Bah, Nintendo is worse. *******s purposely cut the length of their wired controllers so I'd go out and buy the Wavebird. Well F-them, I'll just sit close to the monitor screen and screw up eyes. That'll show'em.

the length of the controller isnt that bad and you could just get an extension chord instead of a wavebird.or you could buy HipGear controllers instead of the Nintendo ones (i do beleive the chord is longer)

Yes, I suppose I could. But the issue isn't the controller length itself, the issue is the morality of purposely castrating an item in the hopes that consumers would shell out for the non-castrated version. And don't get me started on their memory card length, 10 games and it's getting close to filled up. I've got 30 PS2 games and my ps2 memory card still has a ways to go before being filled up.

I guess I just no longer appreciate Nintendo's buisness practices and I vehemently disagree with their management's views on the gaming industry trends [funny how the last place company seems to have the most vocal views on what's right]. If they go the way of Sega I can't say I'd be devastated, just as long as Zelda moves to another console I'd be good.

Right it's ridiculous to expect to get what I paid for considering these items cost the same as Sony's [non-castrated] counter-products? How ridiculous is that
no offense...

And though this is wildy off topic as a fellow hardware enthusiast I feel compelled to ask...why do you have a gig of PC3200 when you're vid card is a 9200 [do you do any kind of heavy video editing]? Also, is that the 533 2.6 or the 800 2.6?

i only have a 9200 because the company that build my pc was only selling 9200 with there PCs because they probably get these for real cheap. (im planning on upgrading someday )
as for the 2.6 its 800

Eh? The Gamecube controller length is as long or longer than the Megadrive, SNES, N64, and original Playstation pad. It's about the same as DC, maybe even longer. Nobody ever complained about any of them.

Besides, if it is short, I really don't think it's to encourage people to buy extension cables/wavebirds. If anything, it would be because Nintendo could save 2 pence per controller by cutting so it wasn't ridiculously long. Multiply 2 pence by the 20 million Gamecube controllers they will have made by the end of GC's life, and you've got enough cash to make a new game. It's pretty easy to guess which Nintendo would rather have.

i just dont get how he can diss the GC controllers when Sony only made 2 ports for there controllers making you buy the multitap if you want to play four players. thats what i call castrating a product (i wont even mention the HUGE Xbox controllers Microsoft initially released )

Some of you guys are severly outdated:

Xbox has a new controller which is the same size as Ps2/GC. This was due to complaints about hardcore gamers getting athritice (forget spelling) from the huge ones.

Nintendo now sells 259 slot memory cards instead of the original 59. This offers similar capacity to the PS2 memory card.

And Chrono, I don't think you're utilizing the cords that are attaching your GC to the TV correctly. Move your GC into the middle of the floor and I doubt you'll have problems.

Now to get back on topic, as I understand it the compatibility of TOS is old news.
