[WiiWare] Megaman 9 (Official Thread)

General Settings (PAL):

-Dual Core: Enabled
-Idle Skipping: Disabled (game runs faster & better without it)
-Enable Progressive Scan: Enabled
-Optimize Quantiziers: Enabled

OpenGL Settings (PAL):

-Projection before R945: Enabled (if disabled you couldn't see any graphics)

Emulated Wiimote Settings:

-Sideways D-pad: Enabled

Issues:

Screen flickers while playing

Overall:

Game is not full speed but shows 50-70 FPS even with Idle Skipping enabled. Fully playable.

Yes, it seems that the frames aren't being limited (50 or 60fps). I noticed this in the beginning of Bust-A-Move 3000 also, it has the same flickering we see here.

Nosound's name fits quite well. This game doesn't work well in the sound department. The music is really slow and eventually drops out. Most sound effects won't play either. But I am quite impressed how far it's come.

funny that this 8-bit game can't run in 2GHz+ dual core CPU.

Is there a way to rip the rom file and play it using a NES emu??

It's not an 8-bit game. It's a Wii game made to look like an 8-bit game. It uses its own engine from what I hear.

No.

Somebody could hack MM2 and turn it into MM9... that would be your best bet.

Btw, using External FrameBuffer gets rid of the scanlines. At least it does for me in Rev 2448.

So aside from the sound, and it being a bit slow, the game is nearly perfect.

Turn off Dual core and enable Idle skipping, so you can still get decent performance.

It seems dolphin uses billinear filtering or something for upscaling, which is good and all for 3D games, but nearest neighbor or HQ2/3/4x would work better for 2D stuff like WiiWare and VC in the future. Hopefully an option for this will be added in the future. (all you have to do is look at 2D system emulators like ZSNES or VBA for examples)
