help with opengl settings

does anybody know how to change the opengl settings in any way? i think i came pretty close yesterday. i think you need to access the control panel. then, when you get to control panel, go to additional options and click on the graphics hardware control feature. at that point, i think you should have access to the driver where you should then select 3d settings and bingo, the opengl window opens allowing you to adjust the opengl settings. but this is all still in question. i just wanted to see if somebody could test this theory for me to see if it really works. better someone with more computer knowledge than me just to make sure i don't screw up by accident. please let me know if it works or not.
