overclocking for dolphin

I overclocked my e6600 to 3.6 ghz just to play dolphin faster but i havent noticed any speed difference above overclocking at 3.2 ghz. Is this similar to what happens for others?

Also a question about overclocking. Cpuz shows that my cpu is constantly changing between 2.4 ghz and 3.6 ghz when im idle in windows. Although when i start a HD movie or a game of dolphin for example it stays at 3.6 ghz dropping occasionally about every 30 seconds for about a sec.

Does this mean my CPU is unstable. Just looking for a yes or no answer cause i know this isntan overclocking forum. Thanks in advance

Doesn't it sound just like AMD's "Cool'n'Quiet" function?

I think it is called EIST in Intel cpus... If you want to save in energy, and generate less heat, you should leave it activated at the bios...

I recommend keeping EIST activated for the benefits it brings. The performance loss is marginal.
