[Wii] Metroid Prime 3 (Official Topic)

I am testing Metriod Prime 3 NTSC on revision 1403, well it seems to work and the I hear some music but there is a problem with the graphics.
The screen flickers from this "insert game disc" screen to the main screen of the game. It looks like some buffer problems.

I get stuck here: I need to be able to the push the wiimote forward

You can if you don't mind the graphics bug and not get epilepsy :P, plus the the wiimote emu needs some accel. ability added for push/pull.

I think I found a solution to the flashing problem. It seems to have been the DVDLowGetCoverReg() command. Disabling the Spyro fix that was there, so that the whole thing is just ignored got rid of the flashing, the game seems to work now

Agreed, the game has near perfect graphics now[it's still really slow, but awesome progress!]!

Edit: the sound is really nice too, but laggy.

Okay, commited the flashing fix now, the game seems to work fine. The only problem I can see is the black border at the bottom of the screen. It's there in both the 4:3 and 16:9 mode. That also cause the mouse cursor to be off. Anybody found a way to fix that? (The cursor could of course be adjusted if I add a second widescreen mode, but it seem better to fix the actual problem that is that the screen is not stretched out as it should in the display window.)

Not related to your question, John, but is the game really slow for you too[around 6-10FPS]? Just wondering.

Yes, I get 10 - 15 fps while sitting in the ship in the beginning of the game. If idle skipping worked it may have been faster, at times at least. Since Idle Skipping doesn't work even the intro and Wiimote logo is really slow. I get 15 fps during the Wiimote logo, I sometimes get 100 fps there.

Yeah, I meant ingame. It's really sluggish, but looks and sounds great. Now we just need the keyboard/mouse to simulate pushing the wiimote toward/away from the screen so we can get past the thruster part.

Yes, I'm guessing it's a Z-axis movement, or a combination of a Z and Y-axis movement. With the axis defined as here. I tried the current S, 3 and 4 button effects that cause Z axis shakes and Y axis movements but they didn't work. Perhaps it needs more gentle Z axis values. I don't have a real Wiimote yet so I can't easily see what the actual values are. If you have a Wiimote perhaps you can use for example this program to check it.

See Omega's third screenshot, Krono. Push the Wiimote toward the screen.

It doesn't detect the wiimote...
Any chance bluesoleil it's interfering with the program? It works as a BT stack? or do i have to run it along with Bluesoleil?

**Any chance we could use a glovepie testwiimote script with along with a video? I could use hypercam/camstasia + glovepie and you could see the debug info...
