Hi everybody, I m not asking for any fix or something, i'm patient and know programmers are (doing a good job) improving dolphin on there free time, so don't injure me. I just want to know what should I wait, to have a game that I like, working better? For example, Resident Evil Remake (certainly the only one that I wait), I m hoping one day I could run this game at full speed (even more) like SSBM and without glitchs. So should I wait a plugin (opengl or dx) update or a program (rev 2506...) update to get rid of speed and glitch? And if it's a plugin update, I would like to know if plugins developpement is still active? Thanks for your responses |

I would say that it doesn't matter what you'd wait for. A good graphics plugin is worthless without a stable emu, that crashes every 2 sec. And a stable and fast emu is worthless if you can't see anything 'cause the graphics plugin is all messed up. So how just waiting for both? ^^ Or just regularly update the SVN (as mentioned above) and hope that it contains some Plugin updates, too! But plugin updates is something that comes after "completing" the main emulation structure, so right now stick to bare SVN updates. ![]() The Devs actually do something, but nobody knows (and unfortunately does not heve to know) what they are working on right now. We can just guess from the recent SVNs ... Most obviously it looks like they are concentrating more and more on the Wii emulation. I think they want to be the first team that has a fairly working Wii emu. No doubt - they have set a great milestone in emulation! To me the situation is like ^^: [SARCASM] Who cares 'bout GC? There are enough other unfinished GC emus, so bother their Devs to continue work. We are busy with reaching the perfection in Wii emulation right now! [/SARCASM] CU

Thanks for your reply! I think it's "sad" that this GC emu turns to a Wii emu. Because for me emulation is a way to revive a dead console. It's a way to make know some old game to the new generation of players. It's also a way for old owners of GC that have broken their console, to be able to play to this console again. Developping an emu for Wii, is just for me a way to allow people without money to play freely the actual generation of games. And I think people saying it's wrong, are just blind! For me their are actually just a little part of honests users of Wii-emu, and a big part of people downloading games illegaly and using the Wii-emu. I am not blaming or encouraging piracy, I'm just saying what a lot of people think but don't say, because piracy is actually a taboo on forum. I think devs should concentrate on GC emu, because one day there Wii-emu will do a big BUZZ, then Big N will come and say, okay guys, go to jail now, pay X$, and you're not allowed to touch a computer for your full life!! This day, no users, no guys of the community will help this unfortunate developpers!! It was what I wanted to say, sorry for my english, i'am a bloody french. If you want to delete the post, no problem. |

Exactly as ector put it. Dolphin = Gamecube and Wii in one packet kinda like the Intel Quadcore Q6600 with 2 dualcore stacked or glued together And thread like these don't help emulation/emulators at all..

Won't happen so easily as the emulator doesn't use any of the essentials from the real Wii. If you want to play Wii games you have to have one real to. So it's just the end user who can be blamed for doing anything "wrong" not the Devs! Quote:
Again: I still know it is a GC emu combined with Wii emu (as they are technically simmilar, this combination is legitime), but I (just I) feel like everyone is hyped with Wii right now and has forgotten the "roots" - tell me if I'm wrong! I also know that the Devs are to decide what is going to happen with the emu, as it is THEIR project. As I do not have a Wii, for me this straight direction right now is some personal disadvantage. So, I'll do as expected here and keep further critics for myself (even thought every reasonable critics is supposed to be a help and t's a feedback, too). Should I ever say anything aganist the GC emu or the way it is developing at the moment again, feel free to remind me of this promise :P CU
