Dolphin on win xp x64 with Directx 10

Hi guys, I was wondering if I can use dolphin with Directx 10. Do I still need the latest directx 9?

My graphic card does support Directx 10. Don't mind the graphic card on my sig. =P

Thanks

Your card doesnt support directx 10 , but you dont need it because Dolphin is based on directx9 and openGl

To answer your question, yes, update your DX runtimes.

There is no such thing as full DirectX 10 on Windows XP.

And besides, Dx10 gains no benefit over Dx9 as Dolphin only makes use of Dx9, even if you have Dx10, you will need to install Dx9 seperately in order to use Dolphin. That's on Vista/Win Srv 2008, as I said; there is no such thing as Dx10 on XP.

But isn't Directx 10 higher than Directx 9? Why do I need to update Directx 10?

Simply said: Dx9 and Dx10 are two different things.

Well I don't know about you, but the topic title clearly states 'Dolphin on win xp x64 with Directx 10'

'win xp x64' suggests Windows XP to me...

Alky Project does provide some, partial Dx10 support, but not the complete and full support which is required to run Dx10 at an equal level as Windows Vista.

I am running Vista and I have DX 10.1, and Dolphin still uses the Direct3D 9 API, why? because the DLL plugin only makes calls to the D3D9 API, not D3D8 or D3D10 or 10.1. For Dolphin to use Direct3D 10.1, it has to be coded to use that newer API.

So for example, if I just make a clean install of Windows Vista, I have to download directx 9 and 10? Btw I want directx 10, even though dolphin doesn't use DX10. I still want it for other games.
