Curiousity Question: Could this LAPTOP be BETTER than my PC?

HP Pavilion dv9843cl Refurbished Laptop Computer - Intel Core 2 Duo T8100 2.10GHz, 802.11agn WLAN, 4GB DDR2, 320GB HDD, Blu-RayDL DVDRW, 17" WXGA+, Webcam, Windows Vista Home Premium 64-bit SP1 RB-HPKN904UAR at TigerDirect.com

This is a sweet deal (not planning on getting it yet, just curious) on this laptop.

Right now (See my sig for specs) is what I have as a desktop. My question is would that laptop perform better because of its specs compared to my desktop? Or is it just a coincidence and there is some sort of laptop:desktop ratio. EDIT: Also realizing this has nothing to do with Dolphin, ill ask will laptops have the same power to run dolphin as desktops usually?

200GB HD
NVIDIA GEFORCE 7600 GS
Windows Vista Ultimate 64-bit Edition

Note most of the time I am discussing errors that involve the x64 bit version of dolphin.

its a core 2 duo and has 8600M with 4GB ram.+blue ray
definitely better than your PC but I think you will get an even better PC for the same price of that laptop.
But if you really want that laptop then its a sweet deal.

Only get a laptop, if you really need one, else get a decent tower. For that much, you might be able to find a PC with a 3Ghz C2D or C2Q.

Well, if you need 25Gb in a single disc, you can go for blu-ray. Otherwise, it is not that good.

Also, considering that we live under the shadesof capitalism, we may have a certainty:

It it is better than your laptop, I don't know, but it is surely better than YOU!

i can see myself scratching a bluray disc and loosing all the data...

25GB going down the toilet... round and round it goes...

50GB, if you count dual layer discs. and imagine the write times for those things.
