Facing low performance on Dolphin

Hi there.

I'm new to Dolphin, and to this forum too, so i'd like to know what i need to do to improve the performance with my GC Dolphin games, more specifically, Tales of Symphony.

I found somewhere at this forum where it says that this game actually work at Dolphin, so i decided to give it a try...And it does work, the problem is that the game runs at very low FPS (something about 5 - 3 at normal screen and 1 at opening screen with anime stuff).

So...My question is: Is there something that i need to download to play this game, or is it just my computer that bad? I'll try to specify the best as i can what my computer have.

Operational System: Microsoft Windows XP Professional (5.1, Copilation 2600)
BIOS: Award Modular BIOS v6.0
Processor: AMD Athlon(TM) XP 2200+, MMX, 3DNow, ~1,8Ghz
Memory: 1MB Ram
Direct X: 9.0c
Video Card: NVIDIA Geforce FX 5200 128.0 MB
Sound Card: SoundMAX Digital Audio

I'm using the 1.03 BETA version of Dolphin in the Download section at the website. I play with keyboard so i won't nee NJoy.

All cards are up to date...
If there is anything else i need to say about my computer, just tell me HOW i get this information that i'll try to put here for you, since i'm not that acknolodged about these stuffs...Anyway, thank you for reading everything, i just hope help come soon since i'm very eager to play this game. Cheers!

It is cheaper for you to play on a gamecube than upgrading the entire computer. With your specs, upgrading the graphic card would do very little to help boost the fps...you also need a much much faster processor too.

I agree with Tuanming, you system is not great and no were near what you need to emulate at a decent speed. Even my system has issues with games and Im running the fastest rated CPU out till the E8600 :P

I don't think so...The point is, this is the only game i wish to play in GC, and i already have a playstation 3, getting another console wouldn't make sense since i don't earn enough money to buy CD's for both GC and ps3, it's one or another, and i definitely prefer ps3. And it would do much better for me to spend my money upgrading my computer, since there are a whole lot of things to do here than with GC. Anyway, i need to upgrade my processor...Anything else i should upgrade? I would apreciate more feedback about this...Thanks!

Yes, your PC really is that bad, no offense man. You'll want a fast dual core CPU, 1 or 2GB RAM, and a fast graphics card that supports Pixel Shader 2 or higher. Something like a 2Ghz Core 2 duo[or higher], and maybe a geforce 8 or geforce 9[8600+, 9600+].

You will need to beef it up alot! Have a look at my specs below in my sig!
I only get 20 - 30 fps ingame with Ikaruga and MP2!

You would need to build a beast!

Try the latest revision before going out and buying a bunch of new crap.
The 1.03 beta is many years old, whereas the latest revision available for download (compiled) was created today.
I wouldn't be surprised if you got twice the performance just by getting the new version.

No matter what you do to settings you are not going to get a playable frame rate with your rig!

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news but its just the facts!

i agree with you shadovv, but that shouldn´t prevent him from al least testing the emu

ah, btw, maybe the error is related to the cpu not having the necesary instructions sets?
