64 bit linux compatibility and linux versions in general.

Just recently started using the dolphin emulator. I'm getting a decent 10-20 fps on my current system, but wanted to know if linux compatibility was up to par with windows. Mainly whether dolphin supports the 64 bit builds of dolphin.

Slightly unrelated, but I was wondering where the dolphin irc channel was located.

I don't think the Linux version is working anywhere near the Windows version. I think there is a grand total of 5 users who use Linux.

No, Dual-core do not work under Linux, as SSE3 detection either.

You can force sse3 mode by hacking CPUDetect.cpp but core detection is non-functionnal for an unknown reason under Linux, issue already reported and accepted.

I'm pretty sure dolphin team will find a fix soon, just stay tuned

SSE3 detection works for me in Linux(AMD Phenom). Dual Core doesn't work from a timing issue. 32bit Linux doesn't work from when I last checked. 64bit runs fine, although it isn't quite as fast as Windows x64. I got 15-20FPS in Fountain of dreams in SSBM in Linux, 20-25 in Windows. It's nearly there ;p

You're one of the very few lucky guy with a working DOlphin emu under Linux X86_64. Most of linux users (including myself) have an error when OGL plugin try to display 3D :
Code:
(0) : fatal error C9999: exception during compilation Cg compiler terminated due to fatal error
I've tested Dolphin on 4 PC (1 Ubuntu 8.04, 1 Debian Lenny, Une OpenSuze 10.3 and One Mandriva 2008) all X86_64 and it always end with the same error. (By different PC I mean different hardware, 4 separated machines)

Aha! Maybe that's similar to my OGL issue... Only my computer doesn't give that explanation. Because it's a Win Vista.

Oh! So that means I can't run dolphin with OGL in my computer, is that?! Because of stupid 3D incompatibilities!!!

Considering you're under WIn Vista, try DX9 plugin, if it work, then it's an OGL plugin problem, if not, then it's a driver/hardware/system problem...

Well, report your issue on Dolphin google project page with as much details as you can after being sure you cannot solve the problem by upgrading driver (I remember a problematic forceware version)
