Difference between 4200+/6000+

I have right now a Athlon 64 x2 4200+ (2.3ghz, L2 2x512kb) and i'm thinking of buying a Athlon 64 x2 6000+ (3.0ghz, L2 2x1mb).

Will it make a great difference? I mean, will the speed be raised like 10-15 fps?

Sorry for my poor English, I am Brazilian.

I know that, but I don't wanna buy a new motherboard. -.-'

If that was the case, i'd rather buy a new PC! :P

From the information i have gathered about emulators it would probably be a waste of money as the most powerful computers today have trouble running certain games at full speed.

If you're looking for more fps, you really should consider a full system upgrade. Buying a X2 6000+ cann't bring you that much increase in frames.

Here's an old link to show the diferences between the Core2Duo and X2 Series:
Intel Core 2 Duo Vs. AMD X2 AM2--Top to Bottom - PC Gaming Benchmark Tests - CPUs, Boards & Components by ExtremeTech

And a link to the PCSX2's Guide by cottonvibes to show you what's the deal about emulation today

And, if you have anymore doubts, send me a pm and I'll be glad to answer it in proper Brazilian-Portuguese to the best I know.

For you is better don´t waste your money right now...Wait a little time and buy a new motherboard and a new processor, it can be an AMD Phenom or an Intel Quad-Core...

Here when I activated the multi-core function on PCSX 2 running Gradius 5 the FPS earlier was 85fps, later the function turned on the game passed to 285fps...

Wait a little longer and make a true upgrade.
