Running too fast?
Is there a way to make this emulator slow down to normal speed? When enabling dual core mode SSBM it's running around 100fps ![]() ![]() I even made it maximum resolution (1600x1050) with maximum AA/AF and it doesn't slow-down. The graphics look amazing, but it's so damn fast. If I disable dual core mode it runs too slowly ![]() I tried to use a 3rd party program to slow it down, however that doesn't even work... Any ideas? |

I don't want to turn dual core mode off, since it is then too slow. I just want to slow down the game with dual core on. ![]() still high, 87fps on this stage. cpu rapes me at high speed. Last edited by antd; August 23rd, 2008 at 23:26.. |

All the builds are the same, it does not matter who compiled it. Try running some other cpu intensive programs along with Dolphin, that way you're using more cpu power on something else and it may slow down the game for you. |

I tried that but it just causes stuttering. Well, a 1-minute round lasts for 50 seconds in real time. Doesn't sound like much, but it's enough to get CPU raped. I guess I'll have to stop playing until there's a fix of somekind

Ok there's something you dont see every day ! My suggestion is to change OptimizeQuantizers = True to False, as that takes away the speed optimizations of the emulator.

i found a program called 'cpu killer' that's quite good and slows the game right down to any speed. however, it's not perfect. i hope they can get this emulator to run at normal speed

I've tried all of the following: -forcing vsync from graphics card's software -setting vsync in in dolphin graphics plugin -using a program which slows games down -setting monitor to 60Hz I used somebody's new build and I played a match at normal speed. However, the next match played at 100fps!! The only method I've found which has an effect is a program called 'CPU Killer'. But that's not suitable really, feels strange. Being too slow is the same as being too fast, both annoying and make the game barely playable ^^ We just want normal speed, hehe. My system isn't even that fast. Surely other people with faster systems must be having the same issues :-P By the way, FRAPS and the in-game fps meter report the wrong fps. Dolphin reports 40FPS, even when it's running very fast at 80-100fps or so. FRAPS also shows 40-50FPS now, so something is very wrong. It's clearly not running at that slow speed. Otherwise I would have no problem. |

hello people, same problem that antd, happy? you are no longer alone ^^ but with some conditions, 1/2 players max. on little arena. idd the speed is like x2 of the original and this with throttle activate. dolphin show wrong fps for me too : ~35 fps = perfect speed (50fps for pal version) ~40 or more = accelerate no i'm not crazy the game is too fast at 45fps :s i know the game (played many years) and i see also this on the display counter of ssbm i dunno if this a problem of emulator or video plugin btw it isn't really a problem but maybe to be the source, cause if not exceed fps it can't limit. sorry for my bad skill in english language. |

Full speed in SSBM is definitely 30fps. (like Resident Evil 4 on PC). You are not crazy :P |

I have the same problem, except in some situations it works too fast even without dual core support. Although I haven't bumped my res to max. With dual core enabled it runs like this: ![]() My rig: Intel E8400 @ 3GHz and 6MB L2 Cache 4GB RAM @ 800MHz nvidia 9600 GT 512 MB Opengl plugin Win XP 32bit (on 64bit Vista it runs ~10 frames faster) Anyway, I'm not complaining. We'll get the frame limiter sometime, and in the meantime I'll enjoy the feeling of having the superior setup ![]() EDIT: I've just tried with 1680x1050 with filtering enabled and it runs just as fast
