Resident evil rebirth

guys ive read a lot about this here in the forums and everyone says it works great.... but not with me... it gives me an error sayng that backpatch is unsuported and crashes the emu.... but theres lots of screens ppl took... and videos at youtube.....

plz can someone give me a light coz this is akward....

im using vista 64 sp1 fully updated(including dx).... latest nvidia drivers.... a\nd i tried many compilations from diferent ppl of the 64 bit version and some from the 32 bit.... do i need any specific version of the emu????

Is it PAL?

its a usa version(they mostly sell usa version around here).... but its a retail version from brasil wich got a portuguese bucklet and the cover is also in portuguese.... but i cannot tell if its pal or not, bcoz idk.

Odd , my computer is not as good as yours and i can run Resident Evil Rebirth quite fine. In Argentina they sell NTSC and they are all in English and it is marked as NTSC.

Get GC tool , it can tell you if your game is PAL or NTSC.

does it have any problem with the PAL version? cause i have pal version and it crash after selecting the main character

nvm i made it work but ingame the charachters look like monster or something

Anyway i think that the PAL version is not working , plus in the latest version of the svn , the US version got more buggy.

well its ntsc.... it was dumped by a friend of mine...he has a real GC and the game belongs to him....

i got mad and downloaded all dolphin versions... to try it.... but it turns out that all versions gave me same error.... so i guess it a compatibility problem with windows vista 64.... has any windows vista 64 owner tried it?

anyway.... doent matter now ive already deleted the whole thing =P

Works fine here on Vista 32-bit and Vista 64-bit.

If you reside in Europ or another Pal region it is likely your game is Pal and that's why it isn't working.

In dolphin it should show the region/country flag of the game you have, as mentioned if it shows a European flag the game is Pal, if it shows a USA/NTSC-U flag the game is NTSC-United States.

What you could have, which it sounds like is the NTSC-Japan version which might not be compatible. Either that or your dump is bad/corrupted.

Anyway's when you post for support on this forum you are supposed to be using a game you own and you have dumped yourself, not a game your friend owns and has dumped as it's considered illegal as well as against the board rules.

sorry to bump but im getting the same error. i also have the USA version and ived tried a variety of different options cant seem to get it to work :P

What sorta FPS are you getting ?

on my pc 3800x2 2.2ghz,2gb ddr2,x1300

i get about 15-20 its still very slow,get see thru characters bug with open-gl also

im using x86 rev 1062,are there any dolphin revs in perticular that run RE best?

Is the x64 builds a big diffirence? thanks

I have the same problem, I am using Dolphin
x64 3659
x64 2740
x86 3659

My configuration is:
Windows Vista Ultimate SP1 x64
Intel Core 2 Quad CPU Q6600 @ 2.40Ghz
4 GB of RAM

I tried playing a bit with setting but that didn't seem to work. I can see the first screen of the game where it says "This game contains strong language and scenes of explicit violence and gore"

I get this error with version x64 3659

Code:

BackPatch - no support for operand size 2

Error encountered accessing emulated address 82000000.
Culprit instruction:
movzx eax, word ptr ds:[rbx+rcx]
at 000000000c7e7ae2

With ver. x64 2740 I get no errors after the initial screen but the game just won't load.

With ver. x86 3659 the emulator just crashes after showing the initial screen.

The dump was made from an American disc so I guess it's NTSC (also the emulators show an American flag).

I'm not a genius but I have to admit I feel kinda silly cos others can make it work and I can't!!!

Please open a new thread if you are having a problem, and don't dig up old threads. The last post in this thread is pushing about eight months now.

Also use a newer revision and disable "Panic Handlers" in the configuration.
