I haven't noticed any slowdown in the last release.

I agree with omegadox, today ector fixed JIT to allow me to run with OptimizeQuantizers = True and I have a 20% increase to speed overall.

I would guess more compatible instructions = more things to process and your CPU can't handle it.

First, these are not releases, they are just snapshots of our development. SVN builds are not "official" builds.

Second, speed will go up and down as code changes. it will go up again when i spend some time tuning the new features.

i would say ector would prefer accurate emulation at the moment instead of making it faster for dinosaur pc's...like old P4's and A64's. which i am pretty sure you have.

i dont have problems with speed... the games i have tried run well over 40fps with my onboard videocard and 60fps with a cheapo 2400pro,,

anyway ector while you here could you head over to the svn discussion thread? got some questions regarding X2 processors and this emulator..dont wanna highjack this thread or spam here.

later

I would say getting it to work at a decent speed with an AMD64 would be acceptable, when comparing the Pentium 4 with something else the AthlonXP would be more suitable.

Even the single core AMD64's whoop the holy heck out of a Pentium D, the AMD64's may not be as good as a Core2Duo but they are still great CPU's and have a lot of juice/life left.

I would say decent speeds with an AMD64 (Dual-Core) isn't too far fetched.

However back on topic, I haven't noticed the new revisions being any slower, they still run at about the same speed for me.

I agree with you Xtreme2damax, my Athlon 64 may not be giving me very high fps, but most of my games are still more than acceptable with their current speeds. And also, the newer revisions are not getting slower for me either, it's quite the opposite with the latest builds.

you must of turned on "OptimizeQuantizers" which will speed the emulator up a bit, this option can cause the emulator to crash on some machines.

That my friend is the game in which you want Dolphin to play once it starts up.
It's something that dolphin had in the old official releases, but it does not seem to work with the new SVNs(I don't know how to get it to work).

and to add to that it will tell some homebrew what game/iso is in the "gamecube"
for example when you set defaultgcm to SSBM and you would then boot gcos' .dol and then say boot game it would boot SSBM

but afaik this doesn't work in the SVN builds o.o
