well i think that has something to do with the X86/X64 compatiblity.

if you use dolphin x64, the nJoy plugin must be x64 too,
an the SDL.dll must also be for X64.

otherwise it wouldn't work.

Wait. In my Plugin-folder isn't a Plugin_nJoy_SDL.dll. Is it a custom plugin and you forgot to put it in the plugin folder again?
Try to use Plugin_PadSimple... *think*
I'm trying to use the x64 compile under XP x64, none of the pad plugins are working on XP x64 and give the error RockmanForte posted. The pad plugins aren't even showing up in the drop down list on the plugin selection screen.

It works fine on Vista 64, however for some reason pad plugins are failing to be detected/loaded under XP x64.

Theres no issues with the 32-bit x86 build, only running the x64 build under XP x64.

By the way the complete compiled build of Dolphin should only be 2 - 3 MB in size, however the one you posted is 7 MB in size.

Oh!! Thank you! I've forgot to delete the debug files (*.pdb)! Next rev the build will be massively smaller. Thanks for the hint.

What's the difference between the DSP HLE and DSP NULL plugin? Why isn't the DSP HLE code released? If sound were to be fixed, would it be mostly written in the Source/Core dir or Source/Plugins dir? How does the plugin system work, what information is sent from Core to Plugin? Is the HLE sound emulation more difficult in this case compared to for example the Nintendo 64, or Playstation 2 (that works okay)? Can't one port the Playstation 2 sound emulation from PCSX2? It can't be much different from the Gamecube sound, can it?

Regards
John

We could also use a 32-bit build of the new revision.

I think my pad problem is related to Xinput but am unsure. I don't get why the 32-bit build works properly under XP x64 but the x64 build isn't?

Both pad plugins fail to load and give that error on startup Rockman posted.

Also whenever I boot my PC, Windows complains that xinput1_3.dll can't be found thus the Xbox360 controller app can't start.

I've checked both the system32 and the sysWow64 folders and xinput1_3.dll is definitely in there, not sure why Windows is having trouble detecting it.

"It's compiled with Visual Studio 2005. An installation of the DirectX SDK is required to build it."
You need Visual Studio 2005 (or 2008), and the latest DirectX SDK (~450mb). After downloading the sourcecode, you have to open Dolphin.sln and press Ctrl + Alt + F7. Then the x64 build will be compiled. (If you want x86, you have so select x86 in the selectbox in the middle of visual studio)

Ah, and you need to add the directx libs and includes to your visual studio search path..
Visual Studio: Extras -> Options, then selecting ""VC++-Directorys" in "Projects and projectmaps" on the left (I've the german visual studio version, so I don't know if it is correctly translated).
These are the relevant paths (on my directory-structure ):
- C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft DirectX SDK (June 2008)\Include --> Platform: Win32 & x64 | Show directorys for: Include files
- C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft DirectX SDK (June 2008)\Lib\x86 --> Platform: Win32 | Show directorys for: Library files
- C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft DirectX SDK (June 2008)\Lib\x64 --> Platform: X64 | Show directorys for: Library files
After adding these paths, everything should compile fine. I hope i could help ;-)
Have fun

greets

THANKS A LOT for the detailed instructions! i will try and if it works fine, upload the latest version to this thread if i am allowed

I got something weird going on with njoy 0.2. It seems it dosen't like my Ps2 controller. Correctly configured buttons do something other than intended. Forward goes backwards. I guess that's why I own 4 pc game controllers.

Works here on rev 5.
And looks like the dual-core bug is present only on the 32-bits binary, people reported on both Intel and AMD.

Can someone help me?

I get this whenever I open Dolphin. I've checked the plugins folder and it is there so I don't know whats wrong. And I can't play without some kind of input plugin.

did you overwrite the new files with the older files
and would that plugin happen to be an older plugin?

try redownloading/re-extracting the plugin.
if all fails -> i attached my plugin folder. it contains all current working plugins (32bit!)
