HQ4x filters should be supported as an option on all emulators including the 3D systems to anti-alias text and other sprites. Of course, it takes a powerful computer to handle that.
The point is, the original game's video wasn't smooth like a web flash game. These filters make it bearable to play the game at high resolutions, but they aren't perfect. Everything is smoothed, even what shouldn't be.

Take a look at these two images. The 960x720 hq4x image is very smooth, too smooth. It may be hard to compare it to the original image at 320x240(within the white background, sorry couldn't get the image alone), but take a look at the clouds. The clouds in the unscaled image has hard details the filtered image blurred out.
In any case, plug in your megadrive/snes/nes to your old telly and see for yourself how much better they look when compared to hq4x.

if you can't figure out how to turn off filters, you fail.
I play gba games at 1680x1050 - with no filters

was this comment at me? I don't know how you can bare to play it stretched from 240x160 to that terrible 16:10 LCD resolution. Take it a step further and play at the native resolution, on an actual gba. Looks best on that, just as the 2D platforms look best on CRTtvs/rgb monitors.

Er, who said anything about stretching? For 2d games i maintain aspect ratio and don't use any filters. just upscaling those pixels, baby!

Does anyone know how to get the open gl pluigin to output in 16:9 mode? The direct x plugin does a fantastic job with gamecube and wii games but with the open gl plugin i cant even get 16:9 resoltions dispalyed properly when i choose widescreen mode in the wii options. Its still 4:3

More improvements with r1450. My lame PC is running SSBM 24~49fps (B4, up to ~32fps).

I'm not sure if this has been asked before, but what are all these speedhacks that have been introduced for several games lately? (i.e. MP speedhacks)

This might be old news, but I've discovered that Twilight Princess for Gamecube has sound in the intro movie[i.e. where you don't press start and let it run through], and it's quite good.

The only problem is the game hangs on a black screen after the movie. xD

Using Revision 1457 x64[32 bit is broken].

I'm also uploading 1457 for 64bit ONLY since x86/32bit will not compile.
