Hi
I'm gonna start to compile the revisions too
It will be very frequent update because I'm on vacation until next week, then I won't compile so frequent.
Using VS2008 Pro edition to compile.

No more members need to compile and upload builds, we don't really need it as there's already enough members to cover compiling and distributing revisions any more and it will become confusing.

If you want to compile for yourself personally that's fine, as for distributing them there are already enough members to cover that.

We don't need more mass confusion and more randoms compiling and uploading builds than there already is.

There were already a number of people compiling when you started to compile, and no one told you you're not needed. I think it's fine to compile builds if he wishes, as long as there are no errors and he can provide safe builds.

Yeah I know a lot people here compile too and that I'm not needed. From the beginning I downloaded your releases, but not all here always compile the last ones, for any reasons, so thats why started to compile too because there's people that always like to have the last one with small fixes but even it won't get any improvements and etc..

I think you missed the point, there is already enough members providing revisions. My point is if everyone decides to compile and upload revisions it will cause mass confusion and could cause more trouble than it's worth.

It will become harder to keep track of revisions, giving a hacker the opportunity to insert malicious code into a revision and it goes unnoticed for a while, then we get n00bs *****ing about how it gave them a virus and so forth.

There needs to be a limit on how many can provide revisions somewhere or it's just asking for trouble.

Just so you know there wasn't several users compiling and providing revisions when I started, there was just daco/nevilia, there was someone else, but he stopped providing builds. There at most needs to only be two or three mirrors for builds.

After I started compiling omegadox and Wagnard jumped on board, three members providing revisions is fine but four or any more aren't necessary.

I have no problem with extra members distributing builds so long as they are improving the emulator or fixing problems.

There is a reason the latest builds weren't up, it's because there were issues/errors when compiling so Dolphin wouldn't build or build properly.

My question to you is why did you leave out OpenGL with your x64 compile?

Maybe just have an "Official" SVN build listed somewhere, and the other ones can rely on that one? I vote for you.

The OpenGL is not include as Xtreme2damax said, theres compile errors, but only with the x64. The x32 should works fine.
edit: fixed x64 and adding icons.

I disagree about someone input a malicious code and confusions.

I don't think someone would be so hater to do that, of course this kind of people exist but who do that would arruine his reputation in this respectfull community and the project as being now a open source project with GPL license don't see why do that.

And people download the revisions if want or not. I'm not forcing everyone to download. Just want to contribute.

That's my point of view

You may be right to a point, but as it is with open source code, anyone is free to do what they wish and can provide builds if they want to. I just don't think it is up to you or me to tell anyone that they cannot compile the code and provide a download link to it.

It's not that I have a problem, it just worries me that it might get out of control, keep track of revisions leading to confusion among members.

Revision 450 x86 and x64 is up, link is in my signature. I have included a revised readme which lists common problems and solutions as well as requirements to run the emulator. Give it a read if you are unsure on something.

I can tell you that I trust you and your builds based on the fact that I believe you know what you're doing more than others do, but sometimes you are not around when an updated change was made and it does help to have a few others around for us to not have to wait around for 2 guys to compile. I think it is up to the devs or the forum admins to tell guys that they can provide builds or not.

-Shockwave- and Darkhawk are correct.

The most people can do, is to only provide a revision ONCE. When a specific revision is up, there is no need for others to specifically waste their time making a build of it (unless it was a bad build). There is no need for 5 builds of the same revision xxx.

This thread evolves with time. SVN updating ceases not. People (that includes everyone) are interested in the progress itself. The code is noone's to accaparate. Dolphin builds are not some service for which "competitivity" rules would need to be enforced.

Whether specifically mentioned, people subliminally chose to download from lesser unknown people than random newlyregistered nobodies. Its opensource for everyone.

Made a build? Then you can do one of the following:
1 - share it
2 - dont

... but most important is:
3 - discuss svn updates (the discussion of changes between revisions (whether 2 or 50 people post builds has no relevance). This thread does not need additional dramas.)

The one thing I would hope that the compilers let us guys who "download" know is if the revision was altered in some way from the original devs code, other than that, I don't mind who I get a build from as long as it is virus-free and is the newest unchanged version.
