DeSmuME v0.7.2 released!

Check this out:

It’s that time again. This release is primarily a bug-fix release. The new features that are included in this release though are the ability to change the firmware language and some improvements to the *nix port’s opengl code. Also those people running Mac OS X should now be able to compile and run DeSmuME pretty well now.

Changelog:

0.7.1 -> 0.7.2
spu:
- big endian fixes. [cyberwarriorx]
gpu:
- big endian fixes. [marcus_c]
gtk-glade:
- opengl improvements. [masscat]
general:
- Added support for setting NDS firmware language value. [masscat]
- Function added for setting firmware language. [masscat]
- Mac/msys compilation fixes. [cyberwarriorx]
- Fix compilation when pkg-config macros are not available [evilynux]

It doesnt use, but you can set the language and your name.

theres a minor bugs in Rockamn ZX advent the characters is missing in the game but is playable without the characters hehehehe.....

Most forums are span and offer no real purpose. Wasting time talking about betas that don't work is pointless as well. If anything it was an educational guess which was true and again in another month the emulator might come out at the same time or maybe it won't which again no positive answer. In the end people choose what they want to hearing, and some choose what they want others to hear. Their is no winning and everyone has an opinion despite who was right or wrong in their predictions or assumptions.

you obviously have no idea how frustrating speculation can be to developers.

you get idiots comming in asking when new versions are comming out, speculation starts, everybody gets all excited, then the release speculated date passes, people get impatient and start putting even more useless rubbish on the forums or hastling the authors asking them why they havent released it yet etc. If you hear the release date specified by the author, thats great, post about it quoting what they said, but spreading rumors will get you nowhere but in to peoples bad books.

Obviously this time you were just lucky.

I'll try to clarify the whole situation, so I hope everything is a bit more clear about that particular topic. We have release targets about every month, to quote the #desmume irc channel topic: "New target release date: August 11". The important word here is "target". We try to get the usual binaries for the systems we support (linux and windows) done by those days. Of course sometimes we will be late, or in the end we will just stop releasing on a monthly basis because it make the list of improvements of every release really short, like in 0.7.1 or 0.7.2, but that is a totally different topic...

Anyway, refraction's point is important to be kept in mind, as the day when we decide to stop this release schedule we don't want to get thousands of beggers asking where is the release, so no speculation if desmume if going to be release this day or the other: but that's our current schedule, and it's not a secret (as I said, it's on out irc channel topic).

It's probably caused by a patched ROM or wrong save type.
