strange instead of 0.8.0 its 0.7.1
here is the update

"Another month, another release. The main features for this release are the major speedup for the 2D core, a GDB debugger stub, multiple language support for windows port and a FPS limiter for the *nix ports. For now the only packages available are the source package and windows binary. The regular *nix builds will come sometime week.

UPDATE: Debian 32-bit/64-bit builds are now available on the downloads page."

Version numbers are dependent of the number of updates, atleast from my point of view :P

Ive tried Castlevania POR with the new version and no improvement yet ingame. However you did say it was a speed increase in 2D

Because Castlevania is not 2D, is pure 3D, only looks like 2D :P

Some backgrounds are 3d and some are not. Like 3 monsters are 3d the rest is not. POR is not "pure 3d".

Castlevania POR is pure 3D, I can prove that. And, if iirc, DoS is too :P

And by pure 3D, it means it's using the 3D core

Megaman ZX is limited due to cpu emulation, afaik. If you test Yoshi's Island, for example, you'll see a 40% speedup. It's mainly oriented to games which were limited by the old 2D rendering engine.

Well, the 2D code it's the same that I commited then. I haven't committed a single line of code related to that or anything else since then.

hi shash
In your blog we see better improvements respecting 3d core comparing with version 0.7.1
It's very possible that it will added in a far o near future. We don t know depend of Desmume TEam
My questions are:

I dont ask when, but what is the status of the 3d core in your build that is not still realease?
What kind of fixed is needed?
and what improvements are made now?

thanks shash for your work

The status of the 3D core you've seen in my blog is quite like the last released shot show. There've been minor improvements, but more or less that's it. You can see a few shots here, here and here. Mostly, every game that gets ingame and freezes in the menus on 0.7.1, doesn't in my build, to name a few not in the blog, GoldenEye and FF3.

And that's as much as I can talk about this :P
