Question First time using DeSmuME

It's my first time using this emulator and for me, it's doing great so far in my PC.

-My problem is, I can't use my mouse as the stylus like in no$gba?
-or if there are any threads about it, please direct me

Well, that is the problem. I can't.

-My mouse works fine, it's just that the emulator won't let me use it or recognize it as its stylus. The emulator's touchscreen is unresponsive.

Latest version of DeSmuMe (v0.9.4), sir.
I'm trying it out with Professor Layton and The Curious Village and Pokemon Diamond.

Well, afaik those games use stylus input, and work for most people that I know, so there's not much I can say other than try to reinstall desmume :P

Okay, I'll try.

-A question, is the rom supposed to be of the same directory as the emulator?
