Those of us who run on Vista have a lot of problems running them on our computers and I personally would love CXBX to be able to play it.
Vista sucks, BAD.
I suggest you install XP in double boot - it will be LONG till cxbx can play KOTOR.
And why don't you play it on your xbox?

God apparently does not want me to play this Game. No Gamestop within 60 Miles of where I live has it. And I'm gunna check out a Play N Trade who said they had it.
But this game is definitely something you want on the list. I've beaten the first 6 times, and the second 13.

Yeah, Vista does really suck. It's amazing how many Xbox games with PC ports get shot down as candidates because of that. Games like the above, Morrowind, and even Halo (at least for me) are having problems with Vista and/or NVIDIA's drivers, making them perfectly reasonable choices to emulate.

Lately I haven't had any time to work on Cxbx (don't worry, I haven't stopped), but if I ever get that game, I can try.

KOTOR works fine on Vista when you do your research and replace the appropriate files.

Hello guys. Could you help me please. I have a "Futurama PAL" ISO file. Tell me
how to start emulate this game with cxbx? CXBX needs a .XBE file, so I extracted the contents of .ISO to a folder and pick the default.xbe with cxbx. The program says "Emulating Futurama.." and nothing happens next.
tested on Cxbx-0.8.0-Pre2 and Cxbx-0.7.9-Pre4-Trace
thanks in advance

List updated.

1. Smashing Drive upgraded to playable (I forgot to change that before, sorry).
2. Celebrity Deathmatch goes in game for PAL and NTSC versions.
3. The dreaded and still yet unknown vista bug continues to kill support for Panzer Dragoon Orta, Halo: Combat Evolved, and Alter Echo
4. Rayman Arena is back on the list. The intro videos play again. Sorry for lack of screens to prove it. NVIDIA drivers broke overlay surface.

Did you look at the compatibility list (see the first post in this thread)? I don't mean to be a jerk, but if you read my last post in this thread, you'll see that I said this -> Smashing Drive upgraded to playable

Some people...

But it's good to see you're still making progress - you're still commiting to the public SVN I presume? (haven't checked)

BTW : What's going on on the Xenoborg side? The fact you're still working on Cxbx makes me wonder : did you drop Xenoborg? A word or two would be appreciated...

Also, what's your feeling towards using VirtualBox as a starting point for building a LLE Xbox1 emulator?

I haven't had a chance to add anything to the SVN lately. Been really busy here lately, and I only got a chance to work on Cxbx for about 3 days now.

Xenoborg isn't dead. I just got back to working on it 4 days ago. It's been months since I've worked on anything Xbox emulation related, but I had some time to get some things working. I was having problems with my binary translator and now that I found out how to use the x86 instruction call rel32 (opcode 0xE8 imm32) to call functions within code blocks, I can really get work done on this project. It may be some time until I can get some time to work on either project more with my schedule, but we'll see. Oh yeah, I'm also re-organizing the code to make it look cleaner and less cluttered so I can focus on the most important things. Right now I need to focus on the binary translator, HLE kernel, rewrite the VGA emulation code and the USB interface for the controllers to emulate some basic OpenXDK functionality. The HLE kernel will be temporary, but later on I'll be using a real BIOS. So starting off, emulating some OpenXDK stuff and maybe Xbox linux would be much easier than going after complex Microsoft XDK built games. After that I can focus on the NV2A, NForce audio, MCPX and BIOS emulation. So right now I'm focusing on a simpler task, such as emulating OpenXDK Invaders from xbdev.net

As for VirtualBox, I like to write my own code rather than use code already written by someone else, but it does help to learn from other emulators. I'm sure I can pull this off one way or another.

btw, did Shadow_tj give you anything from me recently?

It's not that easy. I had to hack an unemulated function in the xbe itself filling it with NOPs and commented out the overlay update code. That's all, nothing special really.

Wouldn't using the xbox's bios help with the compatibility?
