Speaking of level of difficulty in emulating an xbox game. I wonder if "Yu-gi-oh Dawn of the destiny" is easy to emulate? i have just completed a ordinary C++ course(about commands, GUI, data strcuture, no professional experience ). Is it possible for me to be able to "debug" to get that game run? (I still have no idea how to do it )

I've just noticed there's no homebrew on that compatibility list. Is there a reason for that? I'm just wondering as there's a lot of opensource xbox homebrew games & apps. If any devs care to answer I'm just curious as to wether they're being worked on less than the commercial games? Are commercial or opensource games better from a emu coders point of view or does it make little difference for something like Cxbx now? |

I didn't add the homebrew or XDK apps because IMO the new user base doesn't really know how to appreciate it. All they seem to care about is themselves and their personal desires to play game X. Cxbx devs get unbelievable amounts of criticism because it doesn't play "insert game here" and the "you need to get the exclusive titles working" line is REALLY getting old! It's okay though, it's just part of being an "Emu Author" ![]() I don't mean to sound negative, but I don't think they realize how much homebrew and XDK apps really helped Cxbx get this far. I still do test homebrew from time to time, but our best bet for success is to raise compatability with XDK samples because they are our best lead.

Maybe this is a dumb question, but here goes : Has anyone tried making the emus for other systems ( Genesis, Nintendo, etc..) that work on the XBOX work through the PC emulator ? Granted, that wouldn't go a long way towards making XBOX games playable through PC ( or would it?) Maybe ? |

This isn't a request but if any devs consider working on the 5659 xdk then the midway arcade treasures 1 compilation might be an easy target. The games each run directly from a seperate gamename.xbe of just 600k-900k (apart from the game selector default.xbe) and it looks (to a non coder) like they just upload a splash screen showing controls directly to a frame buffer then jump into emulation a few seconds later. These are all old arcade games (rampage, gauntlet and so on) an as such extremely unlikely to use anything advanced gfx wise. I suspect they might all just upload to a framebuffer throughout. Again this isn't a request. I just thought as they have no complex graphics, snazzy menus or intros on a per xbe basis like the xbox homebrew emulators that they might be an easy commercial game target. |

No friend, it isn't playable yet. And if you want to know the status of the games, give a look at this page: Cxbx Compatibility List: The Official List! Please, do not ask when a game will be playable or when a developer will work on a game, remember... the developers make some progress at their free time!! Thanks!

someone here has tried to compile old sources of cxbx in vc 6.0?? is mandatory microsoft platafform?....blues can you make a xdk permisions of all .xbe dumps in cxbx for more permisions? how is the famous u. championship?...i think that cxbx sources needs more explications of any headers because is hard and confuse ..the lib of graphics is not easy to understand with a comparison with sdk directx9.0...but well this sources need fixes to be more readables and understandable...i know that is verycomplicated all this but is better a best specifications for new devīs for change this emu to more progress, greetings

Most XDKs now have minimal support (not including 4400 and 5120 yet) on my branch (which is not yet uploaded). Unreal? A low level operation is preventing it from working still (AvGetSavedDataAddress). Just remember, I didn't write the source code originally so I wouldn't recommend changing it because that would break the entire emulator unless caustik does it.

May I request working on Knights of the Old Republic. The First one if you could. Those of us who run on Vista have a lot of problems running them on our computers and I personally would love CXBX to be able to play it. Vista sucks, BAD. |
