caustik....i HIGHLY recommend custom built, they are AWESOME computers (yes, better than AW (IMO))and the prices are very easy to deal with,

i have bout the same comp as hushypushy. I dont know his comp background experience, but if you know what your doing, custom is ur best bet. Can you get an alienware system like mine for $1800? I dont think so.

Re: Cxbx is temporarily paused

yeah, romstein....wow 1800....mine was 1994 but i bought a monitor and speakers with it too.....and i believe they charge a little more to put it together...

however, if you have experience with putting together computers, make your own. buy the parts and put em together.

if you are lazy (me) and/or inexperienced, go alienware...look at my specs, all that and a 17 inch flat CRT, $1994 exactly including shipping

Re: Cxbx is temporarily paused

Thats why I like custom built systems. You can put whatever the hell you want in them and theyre usually LOTS cheaper.

EDIT: O yea....and Strongbad Rulz!

AlienWare - a really cool computer company that make the best system avialable. Alienware are not rip off merchents. You can overclock it, add stuff to it, take stuff out, make it dangerous, and If it breaks, its still in warrenty! (unlike xbox, take off just one of those stickers, dont even have to open it, and the warrenty is viod)

P.S does my signature pic work???

Re: Cxbx is temporarily paused

sorry dude..your sig pic doesnt work...

and by the way, when i got my alienware computer, i looked all over the web and made my exact same computer (or at least the exact same components, i.e. 16x DVD drive, different manufacturer) and the price was about 120 dollars less.

pretty good, considering that i didnt have to do any work, they shipped it to my door, and it was put together amazingly well.....and plus they gave me neons

Re: Cxbx is temporarily paused

Forced donation would not be graceful, IMO. I know that better spec of computer will help caustik much more, but that doesn't mean he will improve that fast.

Sometimes all a CRT needs is a good smack upside the head.

Re: Cxbx is temporarily paused

I have a job. I'm not exactly rich though.

My old CRT spontaneously fixed itself. I unplugged it, moved it to a difference place, hit it a few times, jiggled the cables, plugged it back in and dropped my jaw open when i realized it was back to normal. Great, now I've got dual monitors at home :]. I also bought a nice desk.

I will try to work on cxbx after hours.
