Putting in a suitable vid card for cxbx in a new comp

Should I do such a thing? I want to get one of those computers that sell for like, 495 bucks , and put in a video card suitable for emulation.Should I do this, or keep the card that comes with it?

For example I want to put in a GeForce 2 GTS. Would it be better than what they give me?

If you want a card simply that will be CXBX suitable then I strongly suggest GF4 Ti4200. You can get one for ~$80 on eBay if you look.

... except he obviously wouldn't be buying a computer just to play XBox games. It kinda gets to me how people say "why not just buy the console, it's cheaper" as if people only use a computer to emulate a single console and that's it.

Uh-huh. First of all, my mom is a wierd yuppie and says she doesn't want a console in the house. Not really because of me, but because of my problem-causing, spoiled, piece of shiest brother. Second, Getting a computer IS cheaper, considering you know where to get all the software for all of the emulators you have(me,heh, I have about three gigs of this crap. Not counting Halo). On top of that, I want to use my old desktop as a fileserver and the new one as a high-CPU-using machine.

Don't ANYONE EVER SAY," Dherrrrrr. I know a good emulator. It's called an xbox it costs around $170. Good deal." I want to shoot people like that.(Nobody here has really said that yet but be warned.)

By the way, I emulate every damn console I can find. From the NES generation to now. Not just the xbox.A loser, I am not.

Exophase, you're my kind of guy. In a strait way I mean.

Re: Putting in a suitable vid card for cxbx in a new comp

I have a geforce Fx and and Ati 9500, the 9500 is far superier. Don't get me wrong the Fx is ok for emulation and stuff, but the ATI just runs smoother and looks better. and the Ati9500 Pro is only $139 now

If you said about GFX5200, its an value card not for performance. You never touch GFX5800U or GFX5900U, heh? I'm sure you'll change your own word written here.
