Hi all!!
I've tested cxbx 0-7.7b with Trok Evoluin and it loads and I can see the acclaim logo, but later, instead the movie an error appears. What am I doing wrong??? PS: I'm astonished about this emu, in only a month it can load perfectly a game :O. Putting it at full screen gives the sensation that u're playing on a TV!!!! Really good!! i have the same problem with this game...
my configuration: xp 1800+@1750 768mb ddr hd 10gb asus a7v8x ati 8500dv the video not work and the emulation exit... sorry for my english but i'm Italian boy

Well I think it depends on the videocard.... You need one that supports overlay like the Radeon 9500 or above... Not sure which others do it aswell but you could probably find a cheaper one that does support overlay.

the only difference of my copy it's the language...
infact i have only italian's movies... but the initial intro is not localized and it's equal for all version... my copy run perfectly on x-box... ps. i have installed dx9 pps. sorry for the bad english....

It looks like your graphics card (or driver, try upgrading) doesn't support non-power-of-2 textures, and that the workaround isn't working.. shouldn't be hard to fix, but I'm not involved with cxbx so this is just guessing

the power of two work around probably isnt the issue, i think your device does not support that particular overlay (YUY2 IIRC). This needs eventually to be supported in software.

the r200 chip (ati 8500-9100) support 4 pipeline capable of 2 texel per pipe and 2 vertex shader unit 1.4 (xbox hardware is equal), i don't think that it's the real problem....
my drivers are 3.4 catalist ... any other user with my problem or card? its possible to use another overlay more compatible ? caustik, your older card is a radeon 7200? please fix this problem quickly... :cuss2: i wont to help this fantastik project...... (source download and analyze) |

Hardware Overlays is a technology used in the process of decoding Digital Video or DVD's, I think. Looking for internet I've discovered that all Geforce 3 & 4 cards have it. In Ati Cards I think is 8500+ the ones that have it.

I'd imagine that GF3+ cards all support the same overlay formats that XBox does though... at least that's a logical assumption. It'd be very strange if that weren't the case.
