I'm not a nice-man, you asked me to shut up? You asked, I answered it, thats your problem. You'd better behave yourself, my friend. Everyone here know that dumb question always bother the author.

ok, I don't quite understand how you people can think you can run a XBOX emu on a system that doesnt even meet the XBOX specs? Your obviously going to have to have a GF4 Ti or better video card and at least 256MB of ram, and I cant quite remember the speed of the processor, but I'm betting that you'll have to have at least a few hundred Mhz higher CPU than the xbox to get things to run smoothly...so why not try to get emulation running on a 2.x Ghz cpu, 512MB of ram and a GF FX card and work your way down as far as compatibility, cuz wouldnt the FX cards have all of the features that the XbGPU has? or would I be wrong? Thats just my 2 cents, I could be wrong

Are you kidding? Xbox use 700MHz CPU and GF3 and many ppl here have their comp with 2GHz or more with GF4 or GFX that obiviously much more higher specs. The problem is that it's a PC, not Xbox and not designed "exclusively" to play Xbox games .

First of all, calm down. Second, you're probably right. But, you can compensate CPU speed with your video card. Sometimes. But I would suggest at least a 1.4 ghz pro with a GeForce4 Ti or something. At least twice as fast as an xbox which is 700mhz. Remember folks, How much does an xbox do while running a game compared to a PC? Virtually nothing. Right.

yeah thats what I'm sayin, but I'm talkin about the folks with like 800Mhz processors and GF2 MX's that are all like, "Can I run Xbox games on my card?" and all I can do is laugh It kinda reminds me of the folks back durin' the UltraHLE days (I worked on the .ini projects gettin more games to run) askin' if we could get UHLE to run on their cards that were non-voodoo cards, and at the time a glide wrapper wasnt even imaginable because it was WAY too much overhead, because your emulating 2 machines then, and they would whine that they couldnt run UHLE and we would get fed up with the stupidity, if you want to emulate a machine, even a machine that is as close to the same architechture that you are using, it requires a lot of resources. the nice thing about Xbox emulation is the fact that it is running on a Windows Kernel, and a X86 architecture...which makes things quite a bit easier than tryin to emulate a RISC processor with hardware that isnt even near anything available as far as architecture goes on a PC...but anywho, if there's any way I can be of assistance to this project I'd be more than willing to help (not just beta testing, I do enuf of that as it is), especially coding, cuz I need to get back into codin', its been WAYY too long LoL...ok enuf of the rant...cya'll l8rz

Re: Pre-Release Screenshots

Man stop trying to force the issue .. reminds of all the people that always say stuff like "Why doesn't all the psx developers work together to get perfect emulation" .. somethings just don't happen. If they want to work together they will, if not then that is their choice. Sorry just tired of seeing this same thing about these two projects all the time. Just let them do their thing and just enjoy what you get in return.

Also very nice progress kingofc, keep up the great work.

Actully i think its quicker that they work seperatrly . it motivates each team and gives you different views at emulation .

Ok, I setup a ftp with all the demos I could find out there and the current public build of CXBX. Here is the info.

165.123.191.227:21 xbox/demos

Upload any demos I don't have please and leech what u want. There is no user limite so go easy on it.

Also, if the beta test team needs a fast ftp let me know, Ill be on efnet in Xbox-Emu. Gonna start up a channel. Come and chat , we can compare and share info. THANKS!

great work by kingofc! now, i wonder how many of you understand how difficult it is to work his changes into the CVS (our Cxbx trees have significantly different techniques, so it is often quite a battle to merge)

Very impressive to see XBMP, fog, pixel shaders, nice nice nice.

Like I was mentioning, they probably are using emulated shaders (because I don't believe Kingofc in particular has a DX8/DX9 class card).. once hardware shaders are used it will be a whole lot different.

Re: Pre-Release Screenshots

well, actually keith, I dont mean to work together. _SF_ used some of caustiks xbe documentation, it would be nice, if _SF_ gave some of that back to caustik by 'lending' him a few lines of code. I personay think that that having 2 xbox emulators would be beneficial to the scene...

Very nice work kingofc! This was again a huge step in xbox emulation
Can't wait to test these out for myself!

Re: Pre-Release Screenshots

As some of the people noticed, fps are not very much. That's becuase I used DirectX's software vertex shader processor (I used the reference device). I do so, becuase my GF2 does not support vertex shaders. Also the emulation of xbox pixel shaders requires at least ps.1.3 (That's also not supported by a Geforce 2 Pro). On a better card you should get something around 30fps (I only speculate, becuase I didn't try it on any other hardware).
