I won't be suprised if any directx 8 card would work for emulation. At the resolutions the xbox runs at the cpu is the bottleneck and not the gfx card. So a geforce fx 5200 vanilla card 79$ "could" be more the adquate to run games at there native resolutions. As long as you have a decent cpu. Not to mention you could even "emulate" the directx 8 features in software and get away with using a geforce mx gfx card with a fast cpu. Of course the better your gfx card the better you can make xbox games look.

Re: Pre-Release Screenshots

I can tell you that this is not that easy. The Xbox uses a special optimized GPU which uses some tricks to get more perfomance. Also there are some new stuff like support for new D3DFORMATs, push buffers (a kind of call stack which is used by nVidia cards internally), NV2A microcode language for shaders, shader commands and more. So it is a long and hard way to get this stuff running on a DirectX8 PC. Don't forget this. (Some things can only be emulated by software and that is really slow).

Re: Pre-Release Screenshots

Sorry to break the mood but, where can I get this?

Er, couldn't post the picture. It's that gamepad app on the 3rd page. I thought I got it from xbins, but it crashes. It shouldn't.

Where can I get cubemap as well? If on xbins, where? I couldn't find it.

well, it's 1.8, I use my computer to make music and I need more performance and processing power so Im guessing a 3000XP+ could get the job done? is there a big differnce?

Re: Pre-Release Screenshots

Sorry, this kinda

XP3000 is good, IMO. I also upgrading to XP3000 as well. Higher than that [3200] not worth, IMO. If you ask about performance, there would be significant performance, but only with certain programs IIRC, that optimized for.

The system that I currently build :
XP3000, Abit NF7-S, Corsair 1GB TwinX PC3200, V5 5500 PCI, R9800Pro AIW, 4x36GB WD Raptor SATA.

Re: Pre-Release Screenshots

Re: Pre-Release Screenshots

Probably won't be much cop in 128-bit (DC/PS2/XBox) emulation, but on the 32/64-bit machines (PSX/N64) it's still king. Most of us are happy with geForce 3's and above now tho.

You're right, Lord Kane. I will use that Voodoo card just for PSX emulation, and GF3 for gaming. That is the only reason I bought this old graphic card.

stevehabs : the next release is up to the emu author. He will do when he want. It will be ready when he think it's ready. About homepage, perhaps he still working on, or he have no time since this emu take a lot of his time. The author also have normal life, family and something else need to work with. So, don't ask about it :cuss2:

Re: Pre-Release Screenshots

Well anyway its considered rude to bug authors about their releases . the answer people usually get is "it will be released .. when it will be released" .

Re: Pre-Release Screenshots

Uh huh. Steve, I know what you meant, seeing as how I'm about to piss my pants waiting for a release. But it's better just not to say anything to avoid a problem and keep respect of other people.
