about xbox hardware
to the emulator author and other xbox dev's ..
i am just interested to know just to what extent the xbox hardware has been revealed through writing this emulator and through other projects (OpenXDK etc) .. I am an xbox developer .. and i would be very interested in finding out as much information about the xbox at its very lowest level for performance optimisation .. what is known about the DMA controller at its lowest level and the GPU? .. issueing instructions to the DMA controller directly would be a very useful tool .. and as far as i know microsoft havent released the information themselves .. developers should have the ability to bypass directx if desired .. |

I believe Tecmo and other developers have used ways to avoid the use of DirectX libraries. In one article, for example, it is stated that Tecmo decided to do away with DirectX in Dead or Alive Xtreme Beach Volleyball.
I'm not all to sure, though. And what do you develop on the Xbox? What organization are you in? |
