Get the XDKtracker here:
Smashing Drive

Then go to 'File' > 'Get XDK info from Xbe'. It should output a .txt file with the information. Then repeat this 1000 times and upload the output to ngemu.
You'll only to read the *.xbe files from the dvd/iso's.

Wow. This is fantastic. I'm so glad to see that we have a whole community of people willing to spend a little of their own time to help our fantastic developers.

XBOX emulation really seems to be coming along!

I'm currently busy upgrading the XdkTracker tool;

Things I've already done:
- integrated all load-code into 1 method, preventing duplicate code
- introduced the difference between Title & dump FileName
- added a column showing which dumping tool was used
- each column in the import-window can now be sorted
- during import, you can now overwrite XBE titles already in the database with new info from the XBE dumps (there's also a Select All/Invert/None popup menu available now)

Things I plan on doing :
- better duplicate detection during import (using title&region)
- embed XBE list into main window
- add an extra column for region information
- integrate import-window and main list into one piece of code
- column-selection popup (Un-/hiding libraries)
- delete/merge/edit popup-menu options
- batch-rename XBE dumps to a convention like FileName = TitleToFileName(Title) + RegionString + '.txt'
- batch-dump XBE's (from a folder, search all XBE's, dump each of XBE found, import the result - all in one go)

Any other suggestions?

PS: We'll be providing an all-new build of Dxbx + XdkTracker near christmas - keep your eye on http://www.shadowtj.org/main/index.html (or these forums) for updates

Add a list of all released XBOX-titles to the tracker. That way you know, which ones are still missing.

An obviously complete list can be found here: Xbox Games List

XBE Dumps can be made with Cxbx / Dxbx

CXBX / DXBX:

Load the game into cxbx - File -> Open Xbe
When the game is loaded you can export the xbe info Edit -> Dump Xbe info to -> File
you can then insert a filename for the dump.
(Dont forget where yah saved the dump when you wanne upload it )..

XDKTracker:

Xdktracker can read xbe info directly into the xdktracker.
This way you make a list of your games without exporting all xbe files...
the tracker has a function to export a list into xml format... this is under the File menu option... but that is not what we are looking for now...
The tracker is a simple tool so we have a list of Games with there Xdk version number.

So if you wanne upload your game xbe dumps... use Cxbx or Dxbx.
For people who dont have latest versions... the 7.8c version of cxbx is good also
and can be downloaded from Caustiks website

Cxbx, The Xbox Emulator -> Download

We're in dire need of a few FAQ's on this, but on the risk of repeating someone else's work :

- get a hold of XIso (this tools is included with Dxbx, so just download that)
- open up your iso with that tool (XIso)
- extract this to a folder of your liking
- in the root of this folder, you'll find a file called 'default.xbe'
- dump the XBE information of this file with either Cxbx or Dxbx
(Or XdkTracker, is you're willing to wait until we release a build that can do this.)
- post the resulting file on this forum (or send a PM)

Cheers!

ok both dumps are perfect done... except for the name of the dump from Petit Copter.
when yah make a dump name it [GAMENAME].txt

So the dump should have be named "PetitCopter.txt"

this so everybody knows what is in the file.. and files can only uploaded once to ngemu.
So nobody can insert Xbe.txt annymore..

so except the name thing are the dumps perfect

Hi,

i'm new here. I come from Germany and i'm learning english in year 8. So please don't be angry if i don't understand everything, but i've got a good dictionary so i think it won't be a big problem for me.
I've got a question:
If i want to play the game "Smashing Drive" what must i do? I've got already the .iso file, and i have extracted it. If i want to start it with CxBx an error message is on my screen.
Could you explain to me what am i doing wrong?

Hey there. Haven't posted in the Xbox forums in a while, but here's what I can tell you. Sorry if I didn't make these clear from the beginning...

1. Smashing Drive only works on my source branch. I've been meaning to update it, but keep forgetting because I'm usually really busy IRL, sorry So the latest branch of mine (shogun3d) is not the latest one.

2. Only the NTSC version's compatibility has been confirmed, so I can't garuntee that the PAL version will work (assuming that's the version you have).

3. In order to actually run the game, you'll need a copy of OllyDbg. You can find that on google. Place a copy of the Cxbx.dll in the same directory of the .exe Cxbx generates. Open OllyDbg and make sure exceptions are passed on to Cxbx by changing them in the debugging options @ the exception tab. Before running you'll have to patch the function D3D::SwapStart (XRef), fill it with NOP instructions (except for the RET instruction at the bottom). I need to write code that actually intercepts that function and emulates the function called by it (I was being lazy). Open the .exe file generated by Cxbx and run Smashing Drive. Be warned that it will run very slowly. I only get 2fps max ingame.

4. One more thing, Cxbx does not run games from .iso format. You need to extract the contents from the .iso and open the .xbe file with Cxbx.

I've got the .xbe extracted from the iso and I loaded it with CxBx. After that I exported the .exe with CxBx (and i didn't forget the .dll in that directory).
What must i do in OllyDbg? I couldn't find that function. How am I searching it (there are many lines ^^)?
I hope you could help me.

Lightbulb Cxbe should apply to join Google Summer of Code 2009

Hi shogun and Caustik,

I think you guys should think about applying to join GSoC (Google Summer of Code) this year.
Google Summer of Code Discuss | Google Groups
Quote:
Google Summer of Code 2009 is a go!

Hello everyone,

While we will be making a formal announcement with more details later
this year, we wanted to let all would-be student participants in
Google Summer of Code 2009 know that we will be holding the program
once again this year. If you are interested in participating, it's a
great idea to begin investigating FOSS projects you would enjoy
contributing to *now*.

Not sure where to get started? No time like the present to subscribe
to project mailing lists, hang out in project IRC channels or in their
forums, check out some source code and start investigating how things
work. We have universally heard from our mentors that their most
successful students are those who got involved with the project early.
You'll look great to your would-be mentors if you ask them smart
questions. Major bonus points if you submit a patch or two. Going
through your first code reviews with a new Open Source project is a
rite of passage in FOSS development and it's a great way to show that
you are engaged with the project. Remember, your mentors want to learn
more about both your strengths and weaknesses, so don't be afraid to
make mistakes. They happen to the best of us.

If you're trying to decide which projects may be right for you or
would like to hear some advice from past participants, check out our
Advice for Students page:
AdviceforStudents - google-summer-of-code - Google Code - Advice for GSoC Students

We'll be letting folks know more details at the upcoming FOSDEM
conference, so until then stay tuned for more details. Please bear in
mind, though, that not all organizations that participated in GSoC
2008 will be returning for 2009. Take time now to explore your
interests and scratch your own itch - that is what Open Source is all
about!

Cheers,
LH

Leslie Hawthorn
Program Manager - Open Source
Google Inc.
It would give the Cxbe project some good press and get the word out there about the Cxbe Xbox Emulator to fellow open source developers.

Start preparing and publicly announce your intentions to apply to GSoC early is my advice!

PS! Feel free to borrow some ideas from XBMC wiki articles on GSoC:
XBMC | Google Summer of Code 2009
XBMC | Google Summer of Code 2008

Happy coding!

Have you identified the reason why the game only runs at 2 fps?

It seems that games with "low-graphics" and not heavy shaders games is more easier to make working. So what about Auto Modellista? This game seems to be very light and not too many 3D graphics

I'm not requesting, just an idea
