thanks for the dumps..

There are lot more people here on the forums, and i only get dumps from 4 people.
Send those dumps, you will spend 10 minutes and we realy can use those dumps to check wich games are best candidates to use for programming cxbx and dxbx.

Support for 64bit xp / vista will not be supported for a long time.
This because of the structure of these operating systems.
When you wanne play something on a 64bit windows, then yah should install something like a virtual machine with xp 32bit or windows Me/2000

I've got 'em all.

I happen to have just about every XBOX game ever made except for a few obscure Japanese releases and some sports titles.

Is there anything in particular you need and if so, how do I generate the "dumps" you're looking for?

XBE dumps requested!
Quote:
For those that don't know how to do this, just make sure that Cxbx (or Dxbx) is running in debug mode and has logging enabled. Then, from the menu, request an XBE dump (or convert your XBE to an EXE) and cut-and-paste the resulting output in a message to us.
and for XDK dumps

XDK patterns needed!

Quote:
I'd like to make a request to anybody out there that has access to an XDK and IDA Pro's Flirt package :

Could you please create patterns files for at least these xbox lib files? :
  • <LI itxtvisited="1">XDK\xbox\lib\d3d8.lib <LI itxtvisited="1">XDK\xbox\lib\d3d8ltcg.lib (new) <LI itxtvisited="1">XDK\xbox\lib\d3dx8.lib <LI itxtvisited="1">XDK\xbox\lib\dsound.lib <LI itxtvisited="1">XDK\xbox\lib\libcmt.lib <LI itxtvisited="1">XDK\xbox\lib\xapilib.lib <LI itxtvisited="1">XDK\xbox\lib\xgraphics.lib <LI itxtvisited="1">XDK\xbox\lib\xgraphicsltcg.lib (new)
  • XDK\xbox\lib\xmv.lib
More might be added to this list, since I recently updated XDKTracker to keep record of all libraries in use by various games (this list was hard-coded until recently).

Normally, it's enough to drag'n'drop the .lib file on top of pcf.exe - a .pat will be generated and that's all we want.
Please prepend the .pat file with the version-number of the XDK, so you'll get "4637xapilib.pat" for example.

We use these to detect as much API's as possible (and I'm working on a much more efficient trie-structure to store them in), so : please send 'em in!

Thanks in advance!

PS: If anyone 'in the know' has comments on the legality of these pattern files, please contact us - we really don't want anyone to get in trouble because of this!

PS 2: Note that it's the xbox library patterns we're requesting, not the actual XDK's themselves (we don't really need them actually) !
Edit: use the XDK Tracker uploaded by shadow_tj in previous page.

No, it's more complicated than that. The dumps only let us know what XDK versions and libraries a game uses so that we can consider it for a good candidate to emulate. Smashing Drive was a simple game without any complex graphics or custom shaders to worry about making it a bit easier to work with, and that's why I got it working in less than a week. Games like Ninja Gaiden, Halo 2, and other of the more popular games are more complex with content (i.e. Online capabilities, complex shaders, bink videos, low-level code, advanced push buffer usage, section loading for large xbes, execution of other xbes, and the list goes on). Getting simpler games without complex features are a bit easier and at this point, getting anything to work is critical to Cxbx's success. Eventually we may get to emulate those complex features. One place I'd really like to start is with NtCreateFile because there's so much that needs to be done with that function. The wrapper for NtCreateFile is probably one of the largest pieces of code in the emulation kernel.

Welcome newcomer , We appreciate your help, but read the Rules please....

anyways the authors not looking for games or ISOs, they are looking for game dumps which is a file generated after executing the game using the emulator (there is special menu for that), or using XDK Tracker program.. read the whole thread and stickies too..

my apologies, having been linked here from xbox-scene and having over 1000 xbox games and knowing how to rip them with xISO and Qwix I thought I might be able to assist this brilliant project.
I will try and find the program I need or can someone point my in the right direction please
