Centrino is only the platform and not the processor. The Centrino platform is basically made up of three things. The Pentium M processor, The mobile 915 Express chipset family, with either integrated or dedicated graphics, and, an Intel WLAN module.

So what that is means is of course it will work. Intel's new Alviso platform will include, Pentium M's up to 2.15Ghz with High Definition Audio, Serial ATA, Expresscard, and DDR and DDR2 memory.

Just make sure you get one with a good graphics core.

A Pentium M at about 2.2GHz would rip a 3.6GHz P4 to shreds in real-world apps (Chankast would probably run better on the Pentium M) but lose in most synthetic benches, such as memory bandwidth.

Ive got a 1.5Ghz pentium M and performs better than my P4 2.4Ghz
Chankast runs with no problems at all.
And the good thing about the Pentium M is that it runs alot cooler than a P4 mobile
