Chankast emulating DOA2:LE ??
Well I found an interesting thread here : http://www.emutalk.net/showthread.php?t=21191 Anyways, I cant download nor the 1st_read.bin nor the fastboot program... If anyone could download those files and upload them in this thread I would be greatfull... I've done some hexediting and deleted averything befor 0xF0000 (mostly there were 00 digits) just like mentioned in the abouve link and made an CDI file using DreemBoot1-2 (I cant find anywhere fastboot utility and as I said before those links from the Emu Talk thread doesn't work) but the image doesn't work :/ (hangs even earlier - on the sega logo screen). Have anyone managed to run DOA2:LE using those files/hexediting thing?? |

Gues that the server was overloaded and Poland has got the lowest priority :P. The game works great!!Slower then Soul Calibur, though... Big thanx to Chankast team!!! Vejita666 : if you have some problems with your downloads, try using a download managment like Download Accelerator or NetTransport 2 (I'm usin this one) By the way, does DOA2:LE work now for you ?

I want to add something : according to the guys at emutalk.net, we must mount the image with daemon tools 3.29. But in fact, I tried with alcohol120% and the problem is that I can't read the contents of the drive (windows says blah blah...), that's why the guys advice daemon tools 3.29. Actually I ran the emu and I noticed that it works without problem despite of it !!! It is strange, isn't it ? Indeed the Chankast Team has made a very good CD-ROM plugin to read DC images... Moreover, my image of "Zombie Revenge" gives the same result.

what did your image file size end up being? mine was 711 MB (746,497,232 bytes)? i get the IO error, but i have yet to try it with dtools 3.29 (mainly since it'd require uninstalling 3.46). also, did you guys run BINHACK or did you just throw in IP and 1ST_READ.bin and run b2b_game?

I've had different results on different computers with different images. Let me explain. All computers runs WinXP Pro, SP1. Latest virtualdaemon (3.46). Using the same images for all computers. Computer 1: HP omnibook 6100 (pIII, 1Ghz, 256Mb, Radeon Mobility M6) Works like a charm, no problems here. All images boot. Computer 2: Fujitsu/Siemens Athlon 1800+, 512Mb, Radeon 9000, Nec 1300 dvdburner. Works like a charm here too Computer 3: Athlon 2400+, 512Mb, Radeon 9800, Nec 1300 dvdburner. SOME images work (Soul Calibur, HeadHunter etc) and some images simple does nothing (DOA2, RE:CV etc). All computers have the exact same programs installed that could make a difference (burner programs, cd layers etc). I don't have a clue why it's not working on computer 3, since I had no problems with Chanka v0.1a. Some ppl have experienced success with images (even on Win2000) by starting up cdrwin and running it in the bakground. Aha, not really going anywhere with this... Just some observations

If you want to be sure that you can load your image file you should use the DTools 3.29 . If you use newer versions there ara high possibilities that it won't work....this doesn't mean though you can't test 3.46

when i run binhack, those two files aren't altered. at least, not if i were to look at their date modified. when running binhack, i entered: ip.bin, 1st_read.bin, and 0,0 at the prompt. it exits the command window, with no message of success or failure, and no alteration of those 2 files.

for those who did get it to work, are you using daemon tools 3.29 or something else?

Mhm a question i tried this trick on Skies Of Arcadia but there was a problem To i need to have the 1st_read.bin from the cd1 or can it be any 1st_read.bin Well i used the same Ip.bin and the same 1st_read.bin as when i used DOA2 but after the sega logo Skies of Arcadia stays black no error messages i think my problem was the wrong 1sr_read.bin and Ip.bin How to i get the right 1st_read.bin

Yes your problem was the wrong 1st_read.bin and ip.bin, it's logical, but I don't know how to get the right files...you may search on the net but I think you won't find anything. Ask to emutalk.net maybe...
