I think your computer should be able to run it, it's not that crappy, there are still tons of people out with older machines.

What exactly was the error you got?

I believe the program has only worked with Nvidia and ATI cards. So it’s likely an incompatibly.

Or you have something wrong with your windows. Try a virus and spyware scan.

O so it's my video card?? O all well. I'm not going to upgrade my computer just for a emulator (Like i have the money anyway) is there any chance that future versions of chankast will be able to run on my computer??

i would think this emu requires atleast a pixel shader 1.0 graphics card? ie: geforce 3, geforce4 TI series(no mx) and above, i could be wrong though

Nope, pixel shaders aren't required (or used for that matter). It'll look no better on a GeForceFX 5950U than it would on a GeForce2 MX.

But between those cards the speed would differ.

>>is there any chance that future versions of chankast will be able to run on my computer??

Probably not. Unless the authors have that exact card or a line of those cards to test with I doubt it. :/

Oh so it is not a hardware issue? Well could you explain what the problem is? Or just some unwritten code?

S3 Graphics Prosavage DDR - It might be your video card.

Get a Geforce or ATI video card.

that computer is far from crappy, that athlon kicks pentium 4 ass.

you just need a better video card and more ram and you would be good for another 2 years.

if you think about upgrading (assuming you have an agp port), try and buy an nvidia videocard 5600 and above, because i've had customers complain and return video cards because of motherboards equiped with that integrated video card is not compatible with ATi. well specifically, emachine via motherboards does not like 9500 and above video cards. but i'm assuming it would apply to all chipsets (km266, and maybe the km400) as via had trouble implementing and having compatibility with ati's agp 8x cards.

Umm??? Ok what did that all mean. What exactly is a agp port??? Lol the only port i know about is the usb port. Looks like my computer isnt that crappy after all!!! Yay!!! I thought i had a bad computer the way the people in the chat room was talking about it. Anyway looks like i wont be able to run this thing without getting a better video card. So how much would one of these things cost and how would i know if i have a agp port or not??? And would i be able to install it myself (note i'm only 16) or would i be better off having it installed at the store?

AGP= accelerated graphics port, it was designed for video cards since the PCI slot doesnt have enough "oomph" on bandwidth, basically its faster than PCI slots.
i would recommed you to have at least the GeForce FX5700 or the Radeon 9600 (not the 9600SE) which costs about $100-$130?.
if you want to know if you have an AGP slot, you could always open up your PC and look at the motherboard, the AGP slot is usually brown and somewhere in the middle of the board, a bit mis-alligned with the PCI slots (the white ones).
or if you dont want to open up your PC, you could download AIDA32 and it can detect if you have an AGP slot.

Ok thanks. I have a agp port. So i guess it's time to upgrade my comp. I'm not going to do it right away. Maybe in a couple months. I want to get a dvd burner first. they cost about 200$
