What is Normal CD swapping?

Q: I tried using the Utopia bootdisk to play non-selfbooting games but it doesn't work?
A: No, there is some bug preventing it from working. Normal CD swapping should however work.

im sorry but i cant understand what is this..can anyone explain to me?

I know this worked on the psx... similar method perhaps?

Some DC backups, especially the earlier ones, use a boot disk to run, because they can't boot (start) by themselves.
In order to make that work, you insert the boot disk first, and after it's loaded you insert the game.
That works on a normal Dreamcast, but not on chankast.

Normal disk swapping does work well though: for example, play a game and open your cd player while the game's running; chankast will return to the bios, just like a real Dreamcast would do. You can then enter the next game. I assume multi-disk games also work.

I have done it and it says: please insert the game disk.. again and again. has anyone here done this and the game works?

is there any way to save your bios settings? (for example the language and the date/time)

right click on dc_flash.bin,properties,uncheck Read-Only
then you can save you language setting, but since chankast doesn't support clock system,data/time can't be saved.

of course it only works for self-booting games.
Anyways,
while of course I understand that in order to use this emu, you have to use backups, discussing things like this tends to lean towards the piracy side, something Ngemu doesn't support.

As for saving the bios settings; dunno, haven't tried that yet.
