chankast capcom hack & code veronica

ok now i'm stunned with the emulation quality the crystal clear sound the....

some beta testing report: i tested code veronica and its perfect.
i have random crashes every now and then but everything is emulated (sound, full fmv's, everything) and the speed is damn smooth!
i formated the memory card and when i manage to save the next time there is no save data in the memomory card :P
**ultra*** minor gfx glitches: the guards hands, claire's pony tail, and the start menu options.

okie my specs are p4 2.54 (no hyperthreading) gforce 4 ti 4200 512 ram
winxp pro sp1 latest nvidia drivers directx9b.

i use deamon tools latest version and i mount the selfbooting images of code veronica. same things occur with burning the image with djuggler but less speed in general.

the door in the screenshot is as far as i can go. crashes occur randomaly too.

click on the screenshots to see the framerate

Try using daemon tools... thats what the chankast authors recommended.
I have tried with alcohol but didnt work either daemon tools works though.

What is the point of playing audio CDs through an emulator? It's not a bug, PSX emus can't play audio CDs either.

As for your ploblem with the game check your iso whether it is selfbootable and supports VGA cable.

no, only the DC version works. the game was ported to ps2, and adapted to that system. The adapted version won't work on the Dreamcast, or the emu, only on a ps2.

There are plenty of tutorials regarding this subject. Check out these two:

Making Selfbootable discs: http://www.megagames.com/dc/dc_selfboot_tutorial.shtml

Enabling VGA cable support: http://www.megagames.com/dc/dc_backup_faq.shtml#6.2

No, no, no. File ip.bin makes a game selfbootable, you need to patch the bootsector of your iso with it. You can't recognize whether it's selfbootable or not by the presence of a file, rather by looking at the bootsector but it's rather hard thing to do. The only sure way without looking at the bootsector is to see whether Chankast or Dreamcast starts the backuped game. Unless somebody knows another way to do it

ok what i wrote was for the capcom hack version.
the same goes for the 0.1 version.

in NEW GFX version now you have to do your magic to get ingame as everything is black till then with some flashes from the fmv. when you hit ingame there are some pixels fooling arround the screen now and then but the guard has his hands allright :P and the inventory menu shows more stuff, check the left screenshot. in the right as it looks in the other two versions (capcom hack and alpha)
