Chankast... was it fake or not?

I just read over at the Dream Party site that the makers of Chankast (Dreamcast emulator) aren't going to release anything else to do with the emulator and are certainly not releasing any test versions. I was a bit skeptical at first at how the team had rapidly developed a working DC emu whilst other teams have been around longer and the difficult hardware emulating etc.
Spanish to English translation of what was on the site is here... written just hours before a release of Chanka was expected...

Estimados Dreamers, estamos segurisimos que esas muestras de apoyo y agradecimiento las tengais para con el equipo de Chankast, porque se lo merecen y han realizado una labor incomensurable.

Desde MadriDC agradecemos todos los emails que nos enviais pero hemos decidido esta misma mañana no publicar nada más referente al Chankast, en primer lugar porque la salida es inminente, nadie mejor que los propios desarrolladores , para explicaros todo sobre el funcionamiento, compatibilidad y en general todo lo referente al mismo.

No podemos ofreceros ninguna versión de pruebas, solo son unas horas, no pregunteis porque no disponenmos de ella, y sabemos que estais impacientes, así que nos ha tocado esperar un poquito mas.

Miguel Angel Pastor Manuel, (Garrofi) del equipo Chanka nos dice, que en menos de 24 horas, la versión de Chankast estará liberada a través de su página web.

Como bombazo, os podemos adelantar que a nivel de compatibildad ya ha superado con mucho a su competidor más directo que es el Icarus, siendo chankast ya capaz de correr el IKARUGA y el REZ2

Son los dos juegos que hacen uso de la MMU cosa nunca emulada hasta ahora en la DC. Por otro lado confirmar que se ha desistido de implementar la opcion de swap-disc por lo que solo y definitivamente podras ejecutar Back-ups autoboot.

Asi mismo nos comunican que su website, estará activo y proporcionando información, así todas las noticias de primerirsima mano, en chanka.org.

As a bomb we can anticipate that compatibility wise Chankas is able to run Ikaruga and REZ.

Two are the games that make use of the MMU, thing never emulated until now on the DC. On another topic it has been confirmed that they have desisted from implementing the swap-disc option making Autoboot Back-ups the only option to be executed on the eumlator.

As well as that, they have informed us that their website will be active and providing information as well as all the first hand news at chanka.org.

Those who know spanish will notice the absence of the translation on the Icarus' part... use the same logic as I and you will understand why I chose to skip it...
