here i am trying to get a new mobo+cpu+ram
as for the processor its gonna be anE6750 (very good that its only 225$)
and the rams are gonna be vdata 800 mhz ddrII cl5 or something(2gigs for 45$)
and last comes the mobo i found this
the first
Newegg.com - ABIT IP35V LGA 775 Intel P35 ATX Intel Motherboard - Retail (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813127034)
for only 131$ (note the south bridge)
the second
and this one my firs choice as being on a budget
Newegg.com - Open Box: GIGABYTE GA-P31-DS3L LGA 775 Intel P31 ATX Intel Motherboard (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813128062R)
for only 121$
first i want to point out that i know how silly my prices seem
its the best i could get (straight from the agents for both brands so i know i'm not F****ed)
so what mobo should i go with ????
the gigabyte is a good ocer (can hit 450FSB)plus its cheaper and it has all solid caps, old south bridge though
please help me decide

I own the IP35,
it's a good board, but worth noting that cpu overclocking is memory linked,
I believe all P35 boards are, you'll need decent ram to OC
I've never heard of vdata, but cheap ram usually doesn't overclock much at all (if at all)
my old 650i board, the asus p5n-sli was unlinked but incompatible with yorkfield (45nm quad core)
which made it a great no fuss clocking board
since you're not going yorkfield you should give the ASUS board a look too, it's cheap, has sli
and it will work with wolfdale processors (45nm dual core)

here is a link to the rams 1Gb V-Data DDR2 PC2-6400 (800MHz) CL5 memory module (http://www.memoryc.com/products/description/1Gb_V_Data_DDR2_PC2_6400-800MHz-CL5_memory_module/index.html)
but since its 800mhz thats 1600 in dual channels i dont think they will be oced at all (my target is no more than 3-3.2 ghz )

ASUS is the priciest brand here ,the agents and distributer (non exclusive by the way) said and i quoute:t asus is the best mobo in the universe so they cost a lot to manufacture and then to sell"
stupid asholes if this was right then new egg is just a waste of american taxpayers money

set the fsb to 400 the change the ram timing to 1:1 in the bios,
the ram would run at stockspeed and you'd get good overclocks
I'm using an e6550 at 2.8 ghz this way, you should hit 3 ghz no problem
...but why get an e6750?
you do know the e8200 is out now?, it's a better performer and overclocker for less than your $225 e6750
it has higher cache, lower power consumption, runs cooler, has sse4 and is 45nm technology
but I would buy an e8400, the stock speed is 3.00 Ghz and it's still cheaper than the e6750 you're buying at $225
newegg have them for $219 - Newegg.com - Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 Wolfdale 3.0GHz 6MB L2 Cache LGA 775 65W Dual-Core Processor - Retail (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819115037)
spending $225 on a way inferior processor is a really bad move,
with the E8400 and an IP35 and decent ram I think you'll hit 4Ghz fairly easily
....without decent ram I would say 3.5 Ghz
but remember that a 3.5 ghz wolfdale would average the speed of a 3.75-3.8 ghz conroe core 2 duo
Edit: emm, get the IP35-E it has heatpipe coolers and a better chipset
yet again cheaper and better than your choice ;) - Abit IP35-E Desktop Board - Core 2 Extreme, Core 2 Quad, Core 2 Duo, Pentium D - Intel P35 Express - Socket T - 1333MHz, 1066MHz, 800MHz FSB - 8GB - DDR2 SDRAM - 800MHz, 667MHz Description, Abit IP35-E Desktop Board - Core 2 Extreme, Core 2 Quad, Cor (http://www.thenerds.net/ABIT.Abit_IP35E_Desktop_Board_Core_2_Extreme_Core_ 2_Quad_Core_2_Duo_Pentium_D_Intel_P35_E.IP35E.html ?affid=1&affid=2&srccode=cii_5784816&cpncode=10-64686201-2)
ps. give me the money you save :p
and consider the increased performance as reward for your donation
......j/k ;)

well here is the thing
have you noticed the prices on new egg and then the prices i posted ???
and core2dous only hit the market in my country 4 months ago and all the hardware stores before that (when c2ds were out for over a year) said that i'm crazy there is no such thing as a c2d and tried to sell me p4 presscots or D
and the ones who heard about c2ds said that i'm an idiot and loughed at me saying that ";laptop cpus dont work on desktop mobos (although they do ))
so the e8xxx for less than 400 is pretty imposible for at least one year and i'm actually getting the new parts so that they can last till i graduate on June and get the hell out of the hellhole where i live

is it not possible to buy parts online and have them imported to Syria?
hmm, I never saw that problem coming
I thought you were getting ripped off a bit on your stated prices
...although those prices are about right in the UK where I live

nope we cant buy online, we are not even allowed a credit card and bank transfers are not safe and there is a good chance that the customs will open my package to check for god knows what and they steal my mobo giving me an open box with only a manual because the sons of *****es don't read English and then they say this is how it was send to you contact your source
so all i need from you good guys is
mobo1 or mobo 2
i went through hell already to find the best prices and parts

V-datas been growing in popularity lately with the overclocker community. At stock speeds, they're a tad below the average but they can overclock like one of the best. I heard they're rock solid so far and the price they offer just grabs the attention of budget overclockers.

are you telling me that 800mhz crossair or XXXXX famous brand perform better than no brand 800 mhz rams???

well yeah they do,
you get what you pay for, I have no brand ram
ddr2 6400 and they won't overclock at all
today I'm gonna go out and get some kickass ram and see the difference ;)

Usually. But the reason why the lesser brand sells well is because of budget to performance ratio. A-data is rated one of the best in value if you overclock.

Ram sticks can use a variety of chips. The best DDR2 ram used in the flagship models of all manufacturers are ones based off of the Micron D9G chips.

I bought a Ballistix kit because crucial is owned by Micron,
received them today and pushed them to see what they could do
I got them to 600 fsb at 5-5-5-12
afaik all ballistix are good Micron chips :thumb:

Unforunately those AData Vitesta Extreme Editions are hit and miss. Some of the sticks modules use ProMOS chips and some use Micron D9G chips. Hopefully you won't luck out and get ones ProMOS. THe memory I'm using is ProMOS based and while every stick varies in performance mine don't reach the speeds capable on Micron D9G based sticks. (I get somewhere around 920mhz with this memory)

My processor has a low multiplier and a high fsb of 1333,
I push the ram to it's max by increasing the divider
but I currently have the pc at 3.15Ghz with the ram running at 900Mhz,
it's a safe clock because the cpu can't do more than 3.5 without increasing the voltages of the bridges and cpu.
I plan on getting an e8400 (maybe e8500) and going for 4Ghz.
and those Adata sticks look great, I would be surprised if they didn't overclock well :thumb:
