just to say if anyone know this, the "mode 7" (i dont recall if gba is this name) speed has improved alot from the 1.8.0 beta 3 (~83%) but is still lag a little and i get 100%, i was testing final fantasy 4 (Europe) in svn 176 windows version their intro with airship looks like is not syncr correctly in every video mode even with no filters. and im using frameskip 0.

The graphics core is the major doozy to optimize.

blargg's new audio engines are extremely efficient, and the GBA emulation core has been tidied up a lot. The only real area left for optimization is Gfx.cpp/h, which is the GBA graphics core. Apparently, Exophase knows the real bottleneck to it, but it might take some time to rewrite that core, and I'll need to research that particular code thoroughly...

If anyone makes a list of spots with speed problems (exact game, exact location or savestate of the slowdown spot, pc and vba-m configuration where it has been tested), I might take a look at it, as the GBA 2D core is equal to the DS one, and I already know the later. No promises, but it could be fun, as I already checked the VBA gfx core when fixing Desmume's one :P

actually i think will be really few speed problems at all with the actual CPU ppl are using nowaday, and really all the graphics core in vba is fast enough for everyone, only 3d games or games that use gba scale effects still need optimisation.

no, the GFX core in GBA is not fast, infact compared to other emulators, including some branched off of VBA, it is quite slow,
