Hello, I know this emulator is old but I still think that is the best emulator of ever made for the psx. I have a problem that is, indeed my fault, hope anyone can help me.

I started a new game on front mission 3, when I went to the save screen it displayed something like "Not enough space in your memory card" kind of warning, I was very lazy to make a new file to replace my full memcard file so I cheated a bit and F1! (yes a savedstate is like cheating). Now, a few weeks later after several F1's/F3's I am almost finishing one of the stories and it was about time to make the proper save file of the game in the memcard file and found myself with the problem that no matter what change I made, for the game my memcard was always full. I started a new game and made a save file on the new memcard just fine, then F3, and when I tried to save my game the memcard was full x_x, I deleted the memcards files from the memcard folder and it still shows that is full... wth, is there anyway to force epsxe to refresh the memcards or is a game issue? I already tried F4 and F5 and both epsxe 1.52 and 1.60. Thanks in advance.

Try replacing the memory card after loading state.

Edit: Sorry but is a 2003 topic quite hard to find. *Runs and hides*. I dont think I can figure out how to use that tool to change the memcard it loads, it has been 4 years now I guess is better to restart my game X_x.

If loading a save-state doesn't insert data into the memory card, you could try loading your game, loading a save-state, hitting esc, copying a fresh memory card over the current memory card, resuming your game, navigating to the save menu, and saving. In fact you could still try it.

I have even deleted the memory card, changed it for a new one after loading the state and several other options, no matter what I do it always says that my mem card is full. The only way I got a different message was using the "-nomemcard" command option, but then I cant save so is of no use, I even made a save state in the middle of the "no memcard found" but when I disabled -nomemcard, it magically went back to "your memcard is full" usual message X_X

Was the memory card actually full at the time of the error message? Is the save-state post memory card access?

The memory card was full when I first made the savestate, I added a new empty memcard and overwrited the savestate afterward and yet it says is full, I dont know how but the savestate is still linking to the previous full memcard file I had, I think is saved inside the savedstate file somewhere X_x. I used psxmemtool to add a new empty memcard to the savestate directly, and dont ask me how it still says is full, I completed a mission and tried to save again and yet it says is full, is to much trouble I think, I am restarting the game, I will make sure that my memcard is not full the next time I start any game.

Edit: The memcard was supposed to be empty as -nomemcard disables memcard fully, however as I disabled -nomemcard it went back to your memcard is full, so it somehow linked back to the initial memcard, I dont know how it works, but I guess the memcard file is saved inside the savestate file.

Have you saved the state after accessing the memcard? The only other thing I can think of is loading the state, replacing the memcard, playing the game until the next save point so the emulator can re-access the memcard. Otherwise I'm out of ideas.

Just use PSXmemtool (http://psxmemtool.ngemu.com/PSXMemTool/index.php) to inject blank memory card to a save state.

Yea I already did. Many times indeed. I have 5 savestates just before the very last battle, I injected freshly new mem cards made with the very same tool, to all of them in both memcard slots. there are two more chances to save in the memcard after that, it still says my memcard is full -_-. I am already playing the game again, I guess is a issue with the game or something. Thanks for the help and time.

...with the very same tool...
That could be the problem, PSXMemtool does not format the card properly.
I suggest that you make new card with ePSXe and go to Memory Card manager in BIOS to format it.
