You want a PS3, but you don't know what games you'd like to get with it. That sounds like the biggest contradiction of the day. Unless you'd want one for bragging rights ;)

Don't expect a price cut anytime soon anyway. And as for your other question: What games do you like?

There is no news about the price cuts anytime soon, the 40 and 80GB SKUs have been just released after all.

From my part I'd recommend the following titles: Assassin's Creed, Call of Duty 4, Folklore, Heavenly Sword, Ninja Gaiden Sigma, Ratchet and Clank: Tools of Destruction, Resistance Fall of Man, Uncharted: Drake's Fortune.

It just went down. You'll be waiting until next christmas shopping season if you want it to go down more. Still not worth buying yet IMO, it's got a few good exclusives but nothing that makes me feel like I need the thing.

You'll have to wait a while. There's Enchanted Arms, that sucks and there's Folklore but it's more of a Action RPG.

On the future you have Eternal Sonata, Final Fantasy XIII, Final Fantasy Versus XIII, White Knight Story (so awesome)

Of course you know that 40GB SKU lacks backwards compatibility with PS2 games ;)

Since you like action and adventure.....
You'd like the new rachet and clank game for the ps3 it got great reviews. For RPGs on ps3 there are Enchanted Arms and Oblivion, even though there are 7 of them on the xbox360. Kind of like bizarro world where everything is backwards. You'd think ps3 being a japanese company with majority of the japanese developers would have more rpgs, but its xbox 360 with Blue Dragon, Mass Effect, Eternal Sonata, Oblivion, Enchanted Arms, Phantasy Star Universe and Final Fantasy 11(an online mmorpg).

Right now, the 360 has been released for too long for studios to ignore it, it seems... Add to this the high cost of producing a game on the PS3, and you get a 360 with even more RPGs to come...

A lot of those games are western A-RPG, but surprisingly, we can see some typical J-RPG that you'd only see on a japanese console in normal time.

Elveon
Far East of Eden Ziria
Lost Odyssey
Fable 2
Sacred 2: Fallen Angel
Cry On Action Role-Playing
Dungeon Explorer
Diario: Rebirth Moon Legend
Spectral Force 3
Magna Carta 2
Kingdom Under Fire: Circle of Doom
Untitled Obsidian/Sega RPG
The Lord of the Rings, The White Council
Golden Axe: Beast Rider
Phantasy Star Universe: Ambition of the Illuminus
Infinite Undiscovery
Alien RPG (working title)
Absolute: Blazing Infinity
Rise of the Argonauts
The Last Remnant
Fallout 3
Dungeon Lords 2

But the PS3 still features some of those rpg (multi-console ports) and a few more exclusive (I think).

the lineup of the PS3 is sitll too weak. i think its only sellign at all because the cheapest blueray player costs like the same.
but it doenst matter, i waited for quite a while with the ps2 as well.

I kinda was thinking that it was like that but man of course i'm not getting that one. the 80GB is so much better... lmao... everytime i look at the PS3 it reminds me of spiderman because of the font and all. and what do you have to say about the wireless controlers? Also whats the difference between HD and Bluray? seriously?

1. Sony owns the Spiderman font so they probably thought it was a good idea to use it as PS3 font.

2. Ditto about wireless controllers. I've heard they can lose contact sometimes but it would be better if you asked someone who actually owns PS3.

3. Difference between HD-DVD and Blu Ray? The primary difference between the two is that Blu Ray is used for both gaming and multimedia needs and can store more data than HD-DVD (single layered Blu Ray disc is capable of storing 25GB and single layered HD-DVD is capable of storing 15GB).

The Sixaxis is very good, I've never lost contact with the console itself and never heard of anybody who has. Of course it lacks the rumble feature so you might want to wait till Dual Shock 3 is released outside Japan.

As a side note, triple layered HD-DVD discs with capacity of 51GB have been approved for production lately ;)

HEERO YUY, as you're from USA you might want to dig a little for 60GB SKU which still has EE+GS on board. That is if you're very fond of backwards compatibility. Otherwise 80GB will still be good as it's the same as 60GB European model with only GS on board and EE emulated via software. It works quite nicely I'd say.

If you care about BC, get the 40GB PS3... and then get a cheap PS2 somewhere. Honestly, that will be a better deal. :)

As for the wireless controller, mine loses contact when I go out of the house and walk across the street. If you are fond of gaming so far away, then stay away from the PS3! :p HD DVD and Blu-Ray are... different formats. lol PS3 uses Blu-Ray as a game storage by default... while HD DVDs are used to store mostly movies. Some HD DVDs can't store full 1080p contents with all of the extra stuffs and what-nots... whereas Blu-Ray is too overkill for anything that is stored on it... except for games. Some games are starting to use up a lot of space... and I'd suspect that the supply of DL Blu-Ray discs are delaying some PS3 games... but that's just a thought. :p

The controllers work good for the most part. Connection is good. However sometimes I'll have a random button input. Triangle seems to be the biggest culprit. Maybe once per hour or so. Not sure why this happens. Seems all my controllers do this for some reason. Its really annoying when watching a movie.
