[Sound Question] Disable only Musik through emulation?

i just had the idea.. most games ive testet didnt had the option "disable musik". well, as i remember none had this option ingame.. but we are able to enable different grafik layers because of the programming in the emu.. i dont know if that gives a speedboost but think bout that (i know sound emulation isnt that far thats why i ask):

is it possible to make the emulator only play sound effekts?

i know it is not possible right now.. but im talkin about future versions

maybe it need to emulate the complete sound (musik+effekt) and then differs between effekt or musik .. sound also should have something like different layers, channels or something..

maybe its possible to differ be4 emulation.. this way it could ONLY emulate the sound effekt and dont care about the musik playing. this might give a speedboost on the grafik emulation.

please if u dont know nothing about how the emulator works, how its goin to handle things and at least know a lil bit of how to programm some emulator: DONT POST ***** IN THIS THREAD

You can set it to only output the mono. That should speed things up a tad.
But no, you can't disable only the background music.

why is this useless?! because u dont know better?

i did some research on the soundfiles of the nds roms.. its quite easy to extract them and play on your computer.. yes i think its very possible to make the emulator only play the wavs and not the midis ...

Sorry, but that´s some fcked up s**t over there.
Play the wavs? Not the midis?

You mean : play the sound effects and not the musics.
There will be no need for it, even in the future versions.

well it depend on how the emulator handles the sdata (sound data)

and no there ist nothing mixed.. inside the sdata file ull find nintendo style wav, midis and steams.. nothin more nothin less ... there its called SSEQ (Sequence), SSAR (Sequence Archive), SBNK (Sound Bank), SWAV (Wave), SWAR (Wave Archive) and STRM (Stream).

since i dont know how the emu works somebody with some knowlege should anwser my question.. i could mute the musik by putting blank files as SSEQ in the archive.. hmm might be worth a try.. maybe it would speed up .. no musik to emulate, more power to emulate other things.. right?!

and why is there no need for it?!

yes, it has (and a lot of them), just an example for a random game that came in to my mind > Touch the Dead
