How are sprites ripped? I've seen many sites with nice looking sprites, and I'm sure they didn't just take a screenshot every time to obtain the sprite. There's got to be some easier way...perhaps...a program to do this? Anyone?

They use animget. Open the file. Clean out the sprite. And put it on a sprite sheet... You answered your own question.
"take a screenshot every time to obtain the sprite." They just clean it out
Edit:Animget is a program that takes screenshots on active programs

Hmm...Animget seems to be useful for animated sprites -- I simply want static sprites. I'm pretty sure this isn't the way it goes, at least if you want the sprite of, say, a Pokemon you don't have or can't possibly have w/o a special event. There must be some way to access the underlying code to rip these sprites. I just need to know how.

Hack the game save/use a complete save and do normal ripping.
