Hey Guys!

Since there is many complaining going on that the new release of the No$GBA is "useless", I wanted to collect Infos about the most known glitches, so Martin has more he can work with. That makes it easier for him and should help him that the next release does not take that long.

Wario: Master of Disguese: Every Picture of the Start sequence loads very slow and when it cames to choose a Savestate it doesnt go any further.

Thats all glitches i can think of at the moment. Will post more if I find some.

edit: That I listed the Games up there was a bad idea. As Schumi-4-Eva said correctly its more inteligent to concentrate on the games that are unplayable or barely playable. So anybody who knows such games please write your experiences with them and explain where and maybe why the errors occure. I let the new Wario game still in the list because its really unplayable.

edit 01/07:
Since there is the new release of No$GBA2.4c I changed the title of the thread while there is no change in Game emulation so far. I would appriciate if you could still post bigger glitches you can find.

Mario vs donkey kong 2 sound stutters and is transparent

Is the game for you in realtime or is it slow? The sound only comes out good when the Emulator is constantly at 100%. When he needs to speed up the sound gets screwed up.

I don't think it's a good idea to list all the games here, but we should list the games which have the worst of those errors and are rendered just about unplayable because of them...not every single game that stutters a bit and does not run at good speeds. As the most severe cases are tested and fixed so should everything else fall into place. Also don't forget the subject of different performance on different systems.

Check the screenshots thread for the ghosting glitch I reported in Spyro - Shadow Legacy and the wierd glitch that occurs when running Asterix and Obelix XXL2 - Mission Wiffix and sigmax's report on Need for Speed - Most Wanted having the same issue.
Some games like Megaman ZX and Lost Magic also just crash during the boot-up publisher view (nintendo, capcom etc.). Finalt Fantasy Fables also has an ingame crash.

For Pokemon Diamond a severe slow-down should also be noted in the bottom right corner of the town you start in and next to the sign leading to the lake and you first pokemon battle. (please by all means someone else check this aswell)

The slowest game I have encountered sofar aside from Wario - Master of Disguise is Etrian Odessy.

There's also the court folder in Pheonix Wright - Ace Attorney. The game runs fine, but as soon as the court folder is opened speed goes out the window and it becomes very stuttery and slow.

Dragonball Z - Supersonic Warriors 2, it should also be noted here that as soon as text scrolls across the screen there is a severe slow-down.

I think those are some of the most severe cases of issues in no$gba.

If everyone starts listing every game then this will turn into just another compatibility list.

I guess your right. That was just the best idea i could come up with at the moment.

So, many glitches I know are connected to the transperency glitch. I am guessing that it is one little error in the Programming that confuses the things that should be Transperent with the ones that shouldnt.

For Example: In some games the Characters and Objects you can interact with are Transperent. But then in a Game like Animal Crossing Wil World the Window behind the driver at the start should be transperent, but isnt.

The New Wario Game goes for me until the part were you can choose a savestate and then it stops loading. i waited 15 minutes with Unlimited Mhz 10% and it did not go any further.

The most slowdowns seem to occure when a 3D Animation get mixed with a 2D code. As you mentioned the court folder in Phoenix wright and the scrolling text in DBZ - Supersonic Warriors 2.

Also the thing with the Water in Pokemon D/P. I dont know why just this surface is black (The one you see when you first go out of your house) and the other times the Water is seeable. Kind of strange.

The Emulator Freezes my whole Computer sometimes when he has to use the whole Processor capacityfor a longer time, but I think that this Problem is on my Machine.

Freezing is definately your PC's fault. Don't try to multi-task whilst running heavy games on this emulator...even my PC locks-up for a few seconds when I switch from the emu to my browser. Loading and unloading lots of stuff from RAM kinda has that effect.

Thats what i thought. He normally doesnt do anything else when it happens, so I just thought I should mention it. Maybe my RAM is damaged

I doubt very much you have damaged RAM.

It's just the slower your processor and the less RAM you have the more your PC will lock-up and if your specs are low enough, or you have a fair amount of background load, it can become a major lock-up and the PC basicially seems frozen.

My processor is comparable to a 3.7Ghz Pentium 4 and I have 1GB of RAM, so I usually don't experience a major lock-up, unless I have been playing a new PC game for a few hours, then my PC basically freezes cuz the processor can't cope with taking all the stored up giant game memory out of my RAM and loading the WindowsXP Interface which aint to small either. In fact every time I leave a game my desktop background returns only like a minute later.

Well, then I am relieved. That Happens mostly when i try to play Pokemon D/P. So if the Emulator gets better, my processor will not be anymore so overworked and he shouldnt freeze anymore if I am right. I wish I had such a System like yours. Mine is just 2 Ghz and 256 MB RAM.

That RAM is definately killing you and it's perfectly normal to experience freezes on it.
By the way...my system is getting old XD, Hiei's system is the way to go.

Spectrobes (U):
There are some missing graphics, and it actually hangs the emu near the beginning (although music keeps playing).

Sprung - the Dating Game (U):
Graphics glitches, flickering. Seems like it'd be fully playable otherwise.

Those are the only games that I've tried that have major problems. The rest are either playable or simply slow.

Can you try to describe the Graphic glitches in the games? I mean, are there 2D graphics missing or 3D? Maybe even how they glitch. Think it might be Helpful to know that.

Spectrobes freezes on the screen provided.

Sprung is constantly flickering, sorta like Club House Games, it's very bad, the onscreen image like reflickers onto itself. It's unplayable because of this.
It's kinda hard to explain...and hard to take a screenshot aswell and screenshots don't show flickering and I can't upload a video cuz that takes too much of my connection.

Hm. I thought that the screenshot demonstrated it well enough for Spectrobes. The text box has those 'decorations' circling it - but in no$gba they simply show up as black boxes. I'd say that's missing 2D. Anyway, shortly after that point, the game simply hangs in middle of that briefing.

...and Sprung? Constant flickering, mostly text but also some graphics. Take a look at these screenshots to see what I mean:

Wrong thread.

Check here
http://forums.ngemu.com/no-gba/88462-diamond-pearl-bugs-how-fix-them.html
Then if you don't find any help amongst the pages already there, then make another post there, it's exclusively for Pokemon Diamond or Pearl bugs such as yours.

Not every thread mentioning Diamond has to do with it's bugs you know or directly with any other aspect of the game.
It scares me to think what a Jewellers forum must look like (if there are such forums). Tons of people stumbleing in and asking questions about Pokemon Diamond amongst posts about rubys and saphires and emeralds.

After obtaining the unreleased e-reader levels for SMA4, I went to try them out, but the SMA4 game refuses to communicate and transfer the loader program to the e-reader. I hope this gets fixed soon, as currently emulation is the only way I can possibly play the unreleased levels. (my sucky printers can't correctly print dot codes.)

All the GBA Pokemon games have graphic errors due to the transparency issue. In certain areas the whole screen is covered with fog.

I just noticed that the site where I got my SMA4 level cards also had an e-reader save with the loader program on it, now i'm scanning cards like crazy :D. But, I have found a new bug. After scanning a card, controllers/joysticks stop working. Not an urgent fix, I can live with playing on the keyboard.

The new Transformers game is missing all 3D models or they may be just all Black because of the Transperency glitch, because same thing happens in "Code Lyoko" with the smoke far away and same in Pokemon Diamond/Pearl with the Water in the first City.

Right.....

So if you are working on something the whole time, with no personal gain whatsoever aside from possibly any free donations some kind soul might spare and people just keep on nagging you and ask when the next version is out or why it's so crap 24/7 (or at least often enough) that you would not possibly abandon your project or at least stop releasing it to the general public????

It's more like "hey let's look at this realisticly most of the people that want what my project, are complete morons who can only nag and complain and might aswell be playing on their DS's...or they are pirates. On top of all that I am getting squat for all this. Bah screw them, they are not worth doing this for." *Continuous to work on project only for himself and maybe his very closest friends*

Stop being so naive, SCHUMI-4-EVA.

From the nocash site:
"That's so unfair - give me freeware debugger asap!
Please understand that the debug version isn't free. I've worked for about three years on making the program - that is three years fulltime - I do not have another job or other income. Next, I am 32 years old (more or less adult person), that means I'll have to pay the rent for my two rooms in the nocash headquarter, plus having to pay for food, coffee, electricty and other daily expenses, required to continue the nocash project.
Also note that the debugging version does not include any additional gaming features, just go downloading the no$gba freeware version for gamers, it's all you need, and it's free"

First, this is his job, so yes, he does want other people to enjoy it.
Second, even if it wasn't,

This is the most naive thing ever. Do you think the dev is so stupid as to think "everyone who use my product are smart people who never pirate"? Of course not. He already knows the truth, and people like you who think otherwise are too naive to be posting in forums. Heck, even if he did think "everyone who use my product are smart people who never pirate", would he really work his ass off only to be appraised by them? Do you think most people who use VBA know who the author even is?

Just quit while you're behind.

Castlevania: Dawn of Sorrow
Lacks a lot of the flat 3d objects being visible. While the background tiles are visible, that's all. The character and enemy sprites are still gone.

Castlevania: Portrait of Ruin
Doesn't display any of the flat 3d objects, only some of those that change/rotate/turn around like some of the enemies in the city of haze area (Death mask's wings, forneus's tails or whatever those things are etc) And seeing as that game is made 99% in 3d that means nothing is visible. :P
Also during the file creation the game crashes on emblem making.
