I wanted to start this thread to ask if what I've read in a external web page is true. I saw a comment that says "yes there is a fan made speed hack for nulDC, but I won't give you more information" and since I was informed (here) that there won't be any speed hacks, is this true (has anyone else seen this)?

If such hack exist it isnt necessary that the authors of the emu created it
as they allready said they dont like hacks of any kind

yeah...I already know that, but I'm still curious (since my PC is slow)

what is wrong with hacks if they help obtain optimization quicker?
What we need is a plugin sdk so somebody can make a pad plugin and give the video plugin some features >_>

these hacks dont optimize the emulator speed, they just oc your system so it can run faster (like speedpig in chankast). This can siriously damage your system (can even lead to a burned cpu)

These would be for games that for whatever reason don't run at 100% speed but should. They are not for inadequate PCs. You can't make a PC faster just by throwing software on it.

yeah, like the CAPCOM hack on the Chankast...still that hack was really useful for most games, and if you ask me, if the authors decide to put that rendering thing (which will lower the fps) a hack like that would be really useful for people like me with less powerful PCs...and to tell the truth, I hope that hack exists, cuz I could use some fps boost...
TO THE EMULATOR AUTHORS!
if I find that hack (if it exists that is), should I report it?

Erm, nulldc runs pretty fast already. I'd say 30 percent faster than chankast with most games.
If you can't get chankast to run fast enough, then it's time to upgrade your computer I suggest. No reason to use these hacks, since they're probably just some frameskipping method.

some games in Chankast were impossible to achieve full fps...SA2 for example (the most known if you ask me)...that's why they used the hack...and yeah, maybe it is a frame skipping hack...I'm not very familiar with programing and stuff like that (I'd like to learn though :3 )...but I'm sure I'm not the only emulator user that hopes that this hack is real...(I think that didn't sound right...oh well)...

Dude that made no since whatsoever, I mean you say "tell the truth, I hope that hack exists, cuz I could use some fps boost". Then basically the ps is "if I find that hack (if it exists that is), should I report it?" Ummm for one, The first thing you do is not use it since it is not from the nulldc devs and could damage your system, No one should be supportive of hacks unless the devs approve it. :???:
