In my case which would be better to use, as i can't really get vb8 legitametly (yes i know its spelled wrong, tired) and i cant get it unligitatametly either, as i dont likt to:innocent: should i stick with vb6 so i could just go into c++ then if i want revert to vb8 legit? I mean it is mainly for c++ and then to create games by also learning teh graphic coding.

Apologizing in the thread title and making a new "help with programming" thread does not really fit imo. I can understand that bumping the old ones up won't help, but doing it like this, by starting new threads all the time is not gonna help.
I also don't see the big deal you're making here, just start with visual basic and see how it works, after all you don't have to become a pro at visual basic, it's just to understand they way it works. You don't have to learn it at all though if your point of interest is c++.

You can use VB6 if you have one(to learn the basics)...
btw Visual studio 2005 Express edition is Free of charge and you can use it(I use it too).... but there are other free tools on the net. like Bloodshed Dev C++ for example which incluse a OpenGL sample...
first you need to learn a language and then i recommend you to install DirectX SDK and read the notes, samples included.. XNA is another option too if you want to create games for windows.

Well no one read any other threads since i posted them so i would get no help there, and i keep creating threads on same topic so i just apologize.
Wait, i already have 2005. So... I was just wondering which i should do 6 or 8.
And what are those, DirectX sdk and XNA?

if you own both i don´t recommend you VB6 in that case. instead (if you want to use .net) i recommend you C# or C++.net or even VB.net
about DirectX SDK you can find information here (http://msdn2.microsoft.com/de-de/xna/aa937788.aspx)
about XNA here (http://msdn2.microsoft.com/de-de/xna/aa937795.aspx)

Wait im confused but oh well. I think i am just gonna learn vb6 to start. Then work on c++ then when i get spiffy at it i will try XNA, that a good order?
Oh and rauntec man(off topic) how is it in austria? i noticed the location looking at your pic. Are the hills alive with the sound of music? lol
And did you have to pay for that xna as i saw that looking throughj the site and xbox live(which i dont have, or an xbox for that matter)

off topic:
I live in Austria but am from Dominican Republic. the picture you see is not from Austria since there´s no ocean here ;)

Well okay, i will just try and do vb6 then c++ and xna, and does xna have the models and textures(in a program you can create or already there?) And ihad a feeling of deja-vu as i wrote that
I was talking about in "The sound of Music" the hills are alive with the sound of music. But yeah, how is it over there, are you affected by the war at all?

XNA is programmed using C# not C++ as far as i know since the libraries are only visible in C#
textures and models can be created using 3DSMAX or Maya and probably other 3d tools.
but to create games you need to learn a lot... since isn´t that easy as you probably think...
those tools makes your work a bit easyer but anyways you need to learn a language first and learn how things works on your desired platform.
off topic:
which war???? there´s no war here or in dominican republic :???:
Austria(not Australia) is in Europe(near Germany) and as far as i know there´s no war here.

Interesting... never hear about it...
in fact there´s no War here... as you can notice i even knew about it ;)
probably a conflict between USA(many countries have conflict with that nation) and Iran... but nothing to do with Austria.

So you didnt know in a matter of years nukes are gonna be dropped on everyone?oO Everyones creating nuclear warheads and storing them.
But back on topic(for me, people can still be offtopic i dont mind ) But C++ is the regular coding, but for doing the graphics with xna i'd have to do c# whatever that is? And how different are they, and how easy is c#, Yes i know im a hassle but i like to know a little backround before i dive into it.

C# is very simple and very similar to C++
don´t get me wrong but i have the feeling that you don´t know what you want....
all i recommend you is choose a language(whatever it is) and forget games developmet for the mean time... because as i told you in one of my post... game development isn´t that easy as you probably think... so first you have to learn a language(and when i mean learn i mean from basic to advance) and when you´re ready then start with the game development..
but programming knowledge isn´t all... you must work with 3D tools...such as 3dsmax,maya etc. and that´s another chapter.
i think you want too much at the start and you need to do it with simple things.
as i can see you´re 13... so you´re young and have enough time to learn.
use this time and prepare yourself now if you want to be a developer one day ;)
because in few years you will be faced with the real life and then you will have no time for such things.

I just wante a path completely open and create a schedule almost, because i was gonna learn vb6 over the time of this summer, and i read it should only take at most a month, so i was gonna start c++ after that because vb6 will be handy but just a way around c++ learning different things and make c++ easier. And i figured that would run right till the end of vacation. Then afterwords get into gaming, as i was making a game with rpg maker but it had horrible graphics and stuff and i wanted to remake it and actually make it. As you can see im clearly gibbering now so im out.
