I've finished the Japanese version of the game and I would very much like to rip out the FMV incorporated into the game. I think they have a total of 8 FMV. So anyone there could recommend me a way to do so?
Thanks in advance. :)

extract them, they all are in /video/ folder.
now, to watch... lol no way, only if you know a way to recode the video.

Ok... I've never extracted nor successfully rip movie files from NDS. Is there any program to do so?? And do you have any suggestions to recode them so I can watch it??

you can use NDSHEADER or DSLAZY to extract the contents.
about recode... well, you'll have to do it yourself, there is no tool for that, because each game uses it's own codec.

NDS games don't use a standard formal like .bik for PC games?

tell me something, nds games are pc games? no, and not ALL (let's say 99% of it) games uses BIK as video files, there is no standard video codecs for pc games, they can use a simple unencrypted MPEG1 file, or a strong encrypted that only the game engine knows how to decrypt to read.

Yes I know, but most PC games use BIK(or at least most that I have played) and I just thought that there would also be something like that for NDS...it would certainly make some lives a little easier, which is why various PC games use BIK.

Well, a bunch of gba/DS games these days use "actimagine" codec stuff for videos. A codec/converter for those at least could be nice.
If not, an emulator option to dump and reencode the displayed video into an avi file would be great. :P

use camstudio then...
just don't expect those "enhancements" from no$gba (like video capturing etc...) even the gui is totally crap... nothing against the emulator it self

I tried recording a video using external capture programs already. The emulators hog too many resources and the videos often drop over half of the frames if not more.
And yeah, I know. Sadly no$gba doesn't have any good features in the demo version, and I doubt even the debug one does. If it did I'd gladly pay the author to get the full version when it's finished.

All right, I used Dzlazy and unpack the NDS rom. As you say, all the video are within the video folder. :) The video files are in .VX format, any idea what it is? I've searched around for a converter or at least a player but still can't find anything at the moment. So does anyone knows this format, this is the first time I've come across it.
Seem like Window Media Player accepts this extension but in the end, it still can't be played. oO

like i said, it's encrypted and only the game can play it. for now, while no one make a codec for that, you have to record with a external software.

Ok... thanks for clearing it. Guess Ii'll sit around and wait until someone manage to rip it externally or create a codec for it.
Still, thanks for all the help. :)
