Problem with sound!!

Hi, i just got my psx up and running. Most games work pretty good as far as video quality goes. But i do have a problem with the sound, in some scenes of the games i play, such as suikoden and legend of mana. The sound is either not there or it makes a tottaly different sound all together. Its like on the CG's its mutted then in the actual game play, the back ground music is different, almost hurts my ears to listen to it lol. But how ever, i do not have this problem with chrono cross, that game plays perfectly. Do any of you know what may be causing this for the other games. I want to get into suiokoden again but can't because the sound is so anoying i have to turn it off and i don't want to play games muted thats no fun especialy on CG's. These are the plugins i am using, can any one tell me if there the right plugins or perhaps maybe i have to change some settings.

Sound - ePSXe SPU core 1.5.2
Video - Pete's OpenGL2 Driver 2.8
CD - Mooby2 cd disk image driver 2.8
Bios - bios\scph1001.bin

IF you could post a pic of the right settings or plugins to use that would be helpfull. I know it cant be my PC specs because i have a pretty decent computer to run PSX.

aaaa pSX does not use plugins... you are talking about ePSXe or other that uses plugin, and ePSXe is in the other forum, try to change the plugins config to see if it helps

What emulator are you using? This section is for pSX (http://psxemulator.gazaxian.com/), you can give that emulator a try if you'd like.

I em using the epsxe, one question? Which is a better emu for ps1 games. The epsxe or psx.


EDIT: I just tried using the psx, its remarkably way better then the epsx from what i seen. How ever i do have one problem, some times the sound will skip just a lil and also the sound will go into slow motion for some reason, any idea on how to fix that problem. Oh and also suikoden 2 does not work that well, when i load it up it shows no picture just sound. Other times it loads up fine but then starts freezing and skipping.

According to the pSX compatibility list (http://psx.silvanthalas.com/ntsc-u_current.html):

Suikoden:
Crashes when checking the star stone, using -r command line option can help occassionally to avoid this; some music is not playing; screen flickering at some cutscenes.
Suikoden2:
v1.10-1.11: After you fight Luca and Solon Jhee then leave the fort, the game goes gray and distorted, sometimes crashes; v1.5-1.11: Use -r option to avoid intro FMV and 1st boss battle problems.


Well,I don't know really about ePSXe but have you tried to use P.E.Op.S. GPU v1.17 graphic (better suitable for 2D games) and Eternal SPU v1.41 sound plugins (http://ngemu.com/plugins.php?cat=1&os=win32&type=gpu)?

no, I am actually using the psx now. thats why i said it was way better. So do you know anything about the psx cause that is the emu i am using but like i said suikoden does not work and other games the sound is slow and skips some times.
