View Full Version : How to hack your Pokemon Save File Instructions

Okay, I figured this out.
1. Go to your NO$GBA BATTERY folder and copy your save file somewhere else in order to back it up in case you mess up.
2. Open NO$GBA.ini in notepad, scroll down to the line:
SAV/SNA File Format == Compressed
and change it to:
SAV/SNA File Format == Uncompressed
3. Open No$GBA (make sure your save type in NO$GBA is FLASH 512 kbytes) and continue your game. Save the game, and then quit NO$GBA. Check the size of your save file in the BATTERY folder. It should be over 500kb.
3. Use the follow program to convert your save file, it will remove the first 76 bytes of your save:
Freeware - No$GBA > VBA Battery Converter | KermEd@Gmail.com (http://www.angelfire.com/games6/battery/)
To use it, click the "Configure" button and set the directory to where your new big save file is. In the empty text box named "New .sav File" enter a name for the new file you will make. Now select your Pokemon save and press convert file. It will create a new save file with the name you typed in.
4. Download the Pokemon save editor:
RapidShare: 1-Click Webhosting (http://rapidshare.com/files/27882633/pokesav_038b_english_translation_0.3.exe.html)
Open your new converted save file (the one you made in step 3) with it, and when you are done cheating your ass off, click save. Now take the new save file you just cheated with, and put it in your NO$GBA save folder. Now name it the same name of your original pokemon save, so that NO$GBA will load it when you play the game. That's all. Now I shall enjoy my 99 of every TM, and I had a sex change just for the hell of it.
Lastly, once you use your hacked save in NO$GBA and save, you will not be able to hack it again right away. Once you have used your hacked save in NO$GBA and saved, you must use the NO$GBA>VBA converter, then hack.
Proposed Alternative Method:
1. Go to your NO$GBA BATTERY folder and copy your save file somewhere else in order to back it up in case you mess up.
2. Open NO$GBA.ini in notepad, scroll down to the line:
SAV/SNA File Format == Compressed
and change it to:
SAV/SNA File Format == Raw (it does not need to be converted and you just have to change the save type mentioned below)
3. Open No$GBA (make sure your save type in NO$GBA is FLASH 512 kbytes (or in the case of no$gba 2.6a set to Auto)) and continue your game. Save the game, and then quit NO$GBA. Check the size of your save file in the BATTERY folder. It should be over 500kb.
4. Pokesav.org (http://www.pokesav.org/main/download-pokesav)

This is for Pokemon Diamond and Pearl. The VBA save converter is used because all it does is remove the first 76 bytes of the NO$GBA save file, so you can use it with the save file editor.

This is for Pokemon Diamond and Pearl. The VBA save converter is used because all it does is remove the first 27 bytes of the NO$GBA save file, so you can use it with the save file editor.
is not 25bytes, it's 76bytes (h4c) you can remove by just hex editing.
by the way, good tool XD

the original one must be a SAV. format not nds like lgc-pkmnp.nds and after convert it and cheat it you must renamed it like the original file in SAV.format

EDIT: I did it again and again,but it didnt work!
PLZ tell me what must i do to make it right?
Here is my Way:
1.Change the SAV/SNA = From Compressed to Uncompressed
2.Saved in my Pokémon Game
3.The saved Data was 521KB
4.I converted it with the Converter the new Converted file called NewSaveFile.sav was 521KB too!
5.I hacked the Game(I made me some new Pokemons with that Editor!) then i clicked on SAVE and then i shut the Editor down.
5.I changed the Original Name of the Game like the .sav data! (NewSaveFile.sav to lgc-pkmnp.sav!)
6.Then i started the Game and looked into my Pokemon thing but i still had my old pokemon and there were no new Pokémons!
So my Question is:
1.What must i do?????????:bow: :bow: :bow:

Hi
Please first, forgive me if I make some mistakes, I'm french and very tired ^^"
I've done all the instructions, and I run the game, all is fine .
I just wondered if we needed to re-save the file using no$gba > VBA every time we play ? Or the first time is enough ?
I know my question might be stupid but ... I prefer ask ^^ I wish I could finish this game before he'll come in shops ^^
By the way... my game often bug at the end of a match . So I turn on the sound, wait the cry of the Pokemon, and turn off . No problem . But sometimes, when I turned the sound on, an error mess appears and end my game ! If I restart the game, my save don't work :( I tried to change the save type with no$gba>VBA just after the mess error and without restart the game, but when I want to load, the save crashed ... :( So if my game crash after any battle, how can I play ... ? :'( *cry*
Thanks for answer :thumb:

Hi there.
The programme doesn't work for me at all.
Firstly, when I converted my No$GBA save to VBA save and used the editor, the characters (inside the boxes, not the programme itself) are screwed up and the pokemons' details became weird too (like they became Level 100, out-of-limit experiences..etc).
Secondly, I tried to save the VBA save, and renamed it (same as the my Rom) as described. However, when I loaded the game, No$GBA couldn't recognize my SAVE file. A new game started. Alternatively, I converted the VBA save to NO$GBA save using the converter (step 3, although it's not necessary according to the program). Then, I renamed the new save (with the same name as my Rom). Yet, NO$GBA couldn't READ the Save, and I can't login to play.
Anyone can help me with my situation?

lol, you know how to use artmoney and don't know how to use hasteds that is more SIMPLE? :rotflmao:
open the emulator, load the rom.
then open hasteds, press the snap button and it should load the nds ram.
now all you have to do is search, like you do in artmoney.
these simple cheats that you get at hasteds, you can convert to use directly in no$gba without any extra software, i already explained how, just search

Can you also freeze values? For instance health?
Do you then continously have to have hasteds open or artmoney whenever you want to play the game or is a one time thing?
Do you need to rehack the codes every time?

Yes. just check the Freeze Codes box and press Refresh Cheat List button.
Do you then continously have to have hasteds open or artmoney whenever you want to play the game or is a one time thing?
like i said, you can convert the codes you get from hasteds to use directly in no$gba.
example, you found your life at address 021BAC00 with value of 42C80000
42C80000 = WORD (32bit)
the go to cheat list in no$gba and press Add New
enter 221BAC00 42C80000
check the gameshark v1v2 option and RAW
press OK.
values from 1-FF(255) = Byte
values from 100(256)-FFFF(65535) = HalfWORD
values from 00001000(65536) to FFFFFFFF(4294967295) = WORD
I'll make a new thread with a better explanation later.
Do you need to rehack the codes every time?
no. you can save in a text file, or in no$gba.

you can hack exact values on no$gba without specify the type of emulator..in "select process" you check the no$gba emulator..Then in search click on "ALL" on the address range and on type "Integer(standard)"then type the value you want.Then the artmoney will find all the addresses..Then change the value you want to increase or change in your game and then press "FILTER".artmoney then will find all the values that changed into the value that you changed inside your game..and then add that address and right click on that address to change it the way you want it..and hiei-yyh you have to admit that artmoney is more simple than hasteds..im kinda of confused with converting:???:and i think the most people are..

lol, even if i had the address to give to you, since i hacked them in a PC hacking software, all you gonna get is a different address from my pc (emulators doesn't use the SAME mapped memory space)... that will not work and probably make your PC crash. if you want hack game codes, use a proper software as i already mentioned.
what you can do is:
1 - Use the cheat search engine of the emulator
2 - If the emulator doesn't have one, use a software that read the internal game memory from the emulator, take as example HASTEDS for desmume/no$gba or renegade64 for project64 (and some others)
ppl should stop be stupid, PC hacking software is only for PC games, sure you can use in a emulator (since it's a win application), but don't expect that those codes you hacked now will work when you close the emulator and reopen since 99% of the emus will map another memory block to load the game. i don't know for no$gba, but try hack codes with artmoney in VBA :) close vba and reopen, after that try use your codes.
and hiei-yyh you have to admit that artmoney is more simple than hasteds..im kinda of confused with converting:???:and i think the most people are..
:rotflmao: lol no comments...
if that is HARD to you, i don't know what's easy. :laugh:
GO TO CODEJUNKIES (http://www.codejunkies.com/)
select the codes you want, if they start with 0, 1 and 2, just invert
0 > 2
1 = 1
2 > 0
0AAAAAAA FFFFFFFF > 2AAAAAAA FFFFFFFF
1AAAAAAA 0000FFFF > 1AAAAAAA 0000FFFF
2AAAAAAA 000000FF > 0AAAAAAA 000000FF
else, if you hacked in hasteds, when you add the code in the list, the default will be 0AAAAAAA
0 = 8bit (1-255)
1 = 16bit (256-65535)
2 = 32bit (65536-4294967295)
based in your code value, change the 0 at the start of the address with the above ones.
now all you have to do is click add new cheat in no$gba, select gameshark and check the RAW box.
simple huh?

i don't know for no$gba, but try hack codes with artmoney in VBA :) close vba and reopen, after that try use your codes.
After that? They still work perfectly. Maybe you should actually try ArtMoney, since you don't seem to know much about it. It works fine with most common emulators. The current build doesn't include support for no$gba by default, but you can manually add it.
Here's a clue from the settings:
VisualBoyAdvance 1.8.0 beta3;VisualBoyAdvance.exe
;WRAM 256Kb;02000000;P005A8F50;40000
;IRAM 32Kb;03000000;P005A8F54;8000
Do you understand now why it works?

i don't need to use artmoney. vba has a excellent search engine, but thanks for the info =p last time i used (i was doing some tests in boktai 3) vba simple changed addresses and Boing... the codes aren't working anymore =p
besides, i hate running 2 softwares just to make one thing... since you can convert the codes and use just no$gba for that.
for pc games i use TSEARCH, since it has a built in debugger, artmoney is just too weak for me (not against, but i use debuggers a lot)

I was just wondering if this program would work on the GBA pokemon games. Also, the converter wouldn't work for me, so could anyone tell me how much of the sav file I need to delete in a hex editor to get it to work. Thanks:thumb:

Why would you want it for the GBA Pokemon games? They work perfectly with all of the codes already created...well aside from shinies that is...but that code moves so it's just about impossible to hack anyways.

About the converter...you don't need to click on "Configure", just copy your save from the Battery folder to the folder of the converter, select the save in the program and click "Convert File"

make sure your directory doesn't have any special char or space. maybe it's causing the problem, use at C:\ for example not C:\My Programs Files

When I try that, none of the file is deleted, it stays 137kb instead of deleting some of it so it'll work for VBA, that's why I need it.

you have to do step 2 first
you open the no$gba.ini file in note pad look for the line that says
SAV/SNA File Format == Compressed
change the compressed to uncompressed. also the instructions to all this is on the first page.

yes you can...gredit goes to colonel cool for finding this:thumb:Ok here it goes..On the main screen of the editor go to events..Then click on the mystery gift option..There it has a box and next to it says enable mystery gift..tick on it..down it has another box that next to it says enable gift..tick on it..Lastly there that it says gift type choose the gift that you want.It has a varey of gifts..Azure flute for Arceus Members card for Darkrai e.t.c..Then click on ok and save..Now load your game and go to a poke mart..You ll see a strange person dressed in green i think..talk to him and you reciecve the gift that you selected on the editor..All thats it left is go to the inn in (i dont remember the city) and do the event to catch darkrai..To catch arceus you must go there that you fought dialga e.t.c...

Nintendo sucks, they expect players to go to NYC just to get these items to get Darkrai, Arceus, and Shimei(I think that last one is right). I mean, every Pokemon game they just have to have these secret events. At least in the original games there were built in cheats to do just about everything. Red, and Blue you had Missingno who gave you infinite items in your 6th slot and in Yellow you could run into a wild Mew. Then in GSC you could clone your pokemon and items, now you gotta track down a gameshark or action replay just to get a few pokemon. Not to mention you have to meet 32 people underground on wifi just to get Spiritomb.

Hi Guys I think Pokesav is a really great programm. But I have a question It is an english version of the programm next week for emaple the german version pf pokemon Pearl an Diamond will be released. What will happen if I use pokesav with that. Will I have english pokemon in the german version?will only be the attacks in english or will be everything in german? Or do I need Pokesav in German to get german Pokemon with German attacks?
SCHUMI_4EVER

Save files just have informations like how much HP you have etc...
SCHUMI_4EVER

Ahh I would have thought so, but considering it obviously also saves what pokemon you have I was just a little unsure. I mean suddenly inserting something which was not there before could understandably suddenly be english if it came from a program based on the english version. So I just thought it would be better to make sure.

Once you have used your hacked save in NO$GBA and saved, you must use the NO$GBA>VBA converter, then hack.
i need a second link (no rapidshare no megaubload)

First, in the 'Stats Edit' menu of a pokemon you can edit their standard atributes (HP, ATK, DEF,etc.), if you click on the 'All Max' button all stat will be changed to it's max according to the level of the pokemon, which is the first box.
Second, clicking the box in the 'Egg' section will turn your pokemon into an egg, but you also have to give number of egg(s) (above a little) and the "Date Egg Recieved", i think this sould be equal to the "Date Met" (furher above), these should be the current time here in the real world (i.e.: 2007 nov. 10.)
Third, Effort values, Individual values and Hidden values.
Those are a little tricky. I don't recomend anyone tampering with these if you don't know what you're doing because these are different for every pokemon. If you want to learn how to edit these things properly here are a couple of links to help you:

Last, Pokerus
Pokerus is a virus, that helps pokemon in some way. You can read about that here: Serebii.net Games - Pokérus (http://www.serebii.net/games/pokerus.shtml)

The first thing I don't understand is that why would you use 2.4a to put in cheats (which you would have to convert first), when 2.5b is perfectly capable of that (without converting the codes).

what it said was that you 'couldnt' hack it right away.. but thats not true either, just be sure to , convert it again , delete the first hacked save, and then rename the second edit again.
just a note; when adding items like tms and pokeballs, u dont have 2 add 1 item at a time, u can tell it to put for example 'ALL' and put '9' where u see 995 and click save , and it will give you 9 of ALL types of pokeballs/tms
i didnt put more than one of the HM's cuz the game is only suposed to have 1 of each , so to avoid glitches i subtracted hm's from the list wen i got all the tm's (just to be on the safe side) also i dont recomend u get 995 of each of the items all at once, rub/sap had a space limit, and wen u would edit more items in, than the game has space for, it would glitch, so be careful.

Help!
I know this has been answered before, but after having tried all of what has been advised and none of it working, I'm at a loss. I can't get the converter to work properly. I keep getting the Run-time error 339: Component COMDLG32.OCX' some file is missing or invalid. I use vista. Could someone please help me?
I've pasted the COMDLG32.OCX file in both the converter file and my windows\system32 but when I go to run it i get this error code 0x8002801c. What do I do to fix this?
Thank you.

here's a easy way to use no$gba saves on ideas without convertting.
Open NO$GBA.ini
SAV/SNA File Format == Compressed or SAV/SNA File Format == Uncompressed
change to
SAV/SNA File Format == Raw.
then run game on NO$GBA and save,the save can be used in iDeas and DeSumME without convertting.copy the save to the game folder.because all save files in NO$GBA are 512K,other emulators will make mistake in auto detect save type,make sure to choose correct save type in manual.
Then open no$gba, and continue your game. Save the game, and then quit NO$GBA.
Open your save file with the Pokesav, rehack,and click save. Now take the save file you just cheated with, and put it in your NO$GBA save folder.
Save again in the game and it's ready to be sent to a flash card.
These are the alternate steps that works better than the original and should work for any flash card. There is no need for any converters in this one.

then convert the file

Also having the error limaho posted when using no$GBA 2.6/2.6a, no$GBAtoVBA 3.0, and pokesav 0.39eng/0.38b.
After following the steps posted (they're all the same, really doesn't matter as there is only one way to set up the program correctly) here and elsewhere, I continually end up with the "save file has been erased due to corruption or damage" error.
This happens regardless of what has been edited, even if I open the newly converted file simply to save and exit. Even loading a pre-made .pkm to an empty box results in this error.
This has been annoying me on and off for the last few hours, as I progress in the game normally and then try to edit the save from my most current position. Is no$GBA simply not compatible with saves edited via pokesav or has anyone one else had this problem and found a solution?
Some things I have yet to check are if it is region-related or a no$GBA 2.6 problem. Also noticeable is that whenever I open a converted save (first time after creation) it never has my currently-owned Pokemon listed correctly. They always appear as a separate species/type with an irregular moveset and name containing characters unsupported by pokesav. I question whether this could be due to the fact that my current setup is using both English and Japanese language settings, though I have yet to test my suspicions.
Any help would be highly appreciated.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
EDIT: As it turns out, Regional and Language Options was the problem. I had to change my language settings for non-Unicode from Japanese to English (United States) and everything is working fine now. Names in the editor show up correctly and I am able to load my edited .sav files in-game without the corruption error.

This method worked fine for me, it was awesome hacking the save file and upon loading it there was only one problem I saw and that was the pokemon I added didn't get poke'dex credit, but no biggie really they still lvl and learn the moves that they are supposed to and when they evolve the data of the evolution goes into the dex. For Legendaries though this won't work since they don't evolve or breed. Guess when I have them all I'll just add the full poke'dex

Does a program like "pokesav edit" exists for previous pokemon games? (emerald, leaf green, fire red, sapphire, ruby)
I could use such a program to see the stats (including IV, EP and such) of pokemon from my previous games and then "transfer" them to pal park in diamond/pearl using pokesav edit, thus I won't actually be cheating, but just transferring my old pokemon to Diamond/Pearl (a feature currently missing in NO$GBA)

Until yesterday I have always followed these steps (underneath). And it works quite good. Only some times when I re-convert a NO$GBA SAV file to a GDS file (DS-Xploder) I get an error on my DS console that some data is damaged and that it will take the Save before this one.
I resolved this little problem just by saving 1 or 2 times more in NO$GBA so even when I get this error on my console I'm sure I still have a good save.
But now my question.
I have seen now that when you change
SAV/SNA File Format == Compressed
and change it to:
SAV/SNA File Format == Raw
my SAV file becomes 512KB and not anymore 521 KB. And I have seen also that I can open that SAV file immediately in Pokesav without using No$GBA > VBA Battery Converter.
Can somebody confirm me that this method is working ??
I will try today also this "new" method for me and I also try to reconvert this (512KB file instead of the "earlier" 521KB file) into a GDS file and maybe I will also be lucky this time not to have this "Data Damaged..." error on my console.
I use DS-Xploder for my savings fm cartridge to PC e fm PC (after playing some on the emulator and editing some with Pokesav) back to Cartridge.
Maybe somebody else have even better suggestions for me ??
Okay, I figured this out.
1. Go to your NO$GBA BATTERY folder and copy your save file somewhere else in order to back it up in case you mess up.
2. Open NO$GBA.ini in notepad, scroll down to the line:
SAV/SNA File Format == Compressed
and change it to:
SAV/SNA File Format == Uncompressed

Greetings to you all. I'm new around here, and have a question about hacking some pokemon into my game. I know the basics of course, since I managed to stick a Darkrai egg in my storage box, but there are some other things I'd like to know and am hoping you'll be able to help with:
1) How do you make a Pokemon shiny in the editor?
2) Can someone tell me where to locate Shuppet, Nincada and Rotom .pkm files? For whatever reason, these simple unevolved forms aren't on the Pokesav Site Database.
To those of you who know about the relation between Darkrai, Shuppet, Nincada and Rotom (some more... evolved than others)... you must realize my intention; a team of Shiny Ghost Pokemon. :D And you might've noticed I'm also being (slightly) fair about it, since I want the unevolved ones wherever possible. Originally it was only going to be without Legendaries, but I just like Darkrai too much. Although I'm still on the fence with Giratina...
Anyway, can someone help me with the pokemon missing from the list and making them shiny? I'd really appreciate it.

If they aren't on the database and you're looking for legits, you'll have to look elsewhere... like eBay. <_> Don't think you feel like buying them, so... maybe you can just hack one and wait for the legitimiser part of PokeMod.
Anyway. Shiny mod is in the Pokemon's edit screen, click the 'Create' button next to the Attribute box. There, you can check 'shiny' and create a new Attribute number.

Ah... I had this same problem on my Vista laptop.
This worked for me
Download the comdlg32.ocx file. Google it. I don't remember the exact site.
Anyway, after you copy it into your system32 folder, you go to Start/Accesories and right click on Command Prompt.
Run it as an administrator.
Then type these lines
cd c:/windows/system32 [enter]
regsvr32 comdlg32.ocx [enter]
And that's it.
Maybe you've done this, but then maybe you didn't do it as an administrator. I hope it helps. ;)

Those codes don't work out! I've done several method mentioned in this thread but things are still the same! For instance, I've downloaded the HasteDS, but it was a version 1.3.1 so i found no baseaddress and it lead to nothing!
Could anyone show me the way to activate the 'infinite lives' code for Megaman ZX?

Spacestar learn some patience. This is a forum, not IRC, it's not realtime so it can take a while to get a reply on board moving at this speed, up to a day in fact.
Also you were told there is a new different version for Platinum.
Also you first have to save the game again before the save will be of the correct type, it's not magically correct.

Spacestar learn some patience. This is a forum, not IRC, it's not realtime so it can take a while to get a reply on board moving at this speed, up to a day in fact.
I'm Sorry, i tried Three Days to do this Dam thing, i'm just kinda giddy there i guess :eyemove:
I'm Sorry.
Ok, well I know that i'm using the right Pokesav, Or Else the Rotom Forms won't be there :)
But, when i came on to resave it, it's delted the data.

Hello everyone, I'm first time around here. Hope I won't sound like some n00bs here...
I've watched several tutorials on Youtube, read the guide here, tried the whole thing like a couple hundred times. But my pokesav platinum is still giving me something like these
Readable English please? (http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b299/chibisecchan/pokesav.jpg)
Since when my Turtwig becomes a Marill!? (http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b299/chibisecchan/pokesav2.jpg)
Note: I don't think it's really polite for me to upload huge pics up here so I put it up onto my photobucket account.
While I did hack just for the heck of it, it doesn't work when I patch it back to the Battery folder. \(^o^)/
I don't think running on a Chinese OS is that much of a difference and I tried the AppLocale as well (I was desperate). Could anyone tell me what can be wrong about it?? Thanks in advance.

How about you update the first page as well...
1. Go to your NO$GBA BATTERY folder and copy your save file somewhere else in order to back it up in case you mess up.
2. Open NO$GBA.ini in notepad, scroll down to the line:
SAV/SNA File Format == Compressed
and change it to:
SAV/SNA File Format == Raw (it does not need to be converted and you just have to change the save type mentioned below)
3. Open No$GBA (make sure your save type in NO$GBA is FLASH 512 kbytes) and continue your game. Save the game, and then quit NO$GBA. Check the size of your save file in the BATTERY folder. It should be over 500kb.
4. Pokesav.org (http://www.pokesav.org/main/download-pokesav)

Hello, Like Spacestar, We are both new at these fourms (Spacestar is my younger brother)
Likewise, we both need help.
We both have the same problem, we both get this thing called "Error 339"
Now i have already have that Congfigure (Pardon my Spelling) File but it's still not working.
P.S - You don't have to call my brother a n00b, he is just rather impatient.

... wow you got called a noob over the internet, end of the world...
tell your bro to suck it up.
but your going to need to provide a lot more details on how you got the error, what are you specs, maybe a pic of the error, what you were doing, or what background programs were on.

Press the "A" button, there's supposed to be a message telling you that but for some reason it does not display on no$gba.

here's a tutorial

your video only shows how to work with the editor not how to get your saves to load properly

April 12th, 2009, 19:03
Type this into Run-prompt:
regsvr32 c:\windows\system32\comdlg32.ocx
That usually fixes those, but not always.
maybe if i knew exaclty what you were talking about i could use this thing....but i don't know what your talking about at all
the errors i get are runtime error 339 component comdlg32.ocx or one of its dependencies not currently registered: a file is missing or invalid. when i click configure
when i hit convert it says runtime error 75 path/file access arror.
how do i fix this?
k i just did the alternative method it works fine with the exeption of not being able to see the full editor, part of the editor is cut off, i see what im asumeing is the top most of it, when editing my pokemon. is there anyway to scroll down it? or do i just need to have a higher res monitor?

I can't get this to work on pokemon platinum (I'm assuming it works for platinum...)
I followed the instructions to the letter. I changed the file to say Uncompressed, converted the file, opened it with the hack program, then all I did was change the pokemon in slot 1 and changed its attacks and set everything to max. I then chose "save as" and made it the exact file name as the original save and put it in the battery folder.
I opened up NO$GBA and it went straight to creating a new character. It has loaded saved games in the past, I don't know what's wrong >.<
EDIT: Apparently, it doesn't work on platinum...I tried it with Diamond and it works fine. If anyone has a solution that works for platinum, I'd love to hear it.

Works perfect for Platinum, just use the correct save editor RapidShare: 1-CLICK Web hosting - Easy Filehosting (http://rapidshare.com/files/213877559/Pokesav_Pokemon_Platinum_Events_26_march_2009_.zip )
However for whatever reason pokemon still arent shiny, no matter if I get them out of an egg or just edit them into my team, does anyone have any idea why?

Hi,
I've tried this with Diamond, it was just a test, so I only did 995 of every Pokeball. It worked (yay!). But now, when I try it again, It doesn't work, I want it on my DS, I have a firecard/fire link, it has .sav files that are 256kb, so I thought, in PokeSav, instead of 512kb, (you can choose on the left) I'll do 256kb, but it didn't work.
But when I first tried, it worked as I said on No$GBA, AND on my DS, but now not anymore.
What I did, made the ini uncompressed, saved in No$GBA, converted it, (doesn't makes the file smaller) edit it, and save it. Now that doesn't work anymore, suggestions?
EDIT: As I said, my save files usually are 256kb, with PokeSav you can choose between 512 and 256kb. But when I pick 256kb, save it, then go to the directory, look the properties, it says it's 265kb, and with 512kb, in properties it's 521, the first time, I don't know what I did different, but it was the normal 256 size. It's always 9kb bigger, that's the reason (I think).
Does somebody know how to make it smaller, so it works?

Man, I spend hours trying to circumvent the comdlg32.ocx problem(which I finally figured out) and then I run into another when I finally get pokesav working lol. Has anyone ever had trouble getting a backup save to load? I couldn't get the pokesav save I made to load so I tried deleting it. I think I must've deleted the original file because when I load up the rom it goes straight to the rowan intro. I've tried using backup saves but they don't seem to register. What can I do?
Edit: Nvm, was messing around and I stumbled upon the solution. The names(of the rom and save) seemingly matched up but I changed them both anyway to be sure. Sure enough the save loaded right up. Must've been a letter off or something? Idk lol.
