View Full Version : No$gba savegame converter? Or Phoenix Wright savegame?
Goldving

Okay, so I was quite a ways into Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney and I simply can't make myself do all the chapters over again. Somehow my .SAV got corrupted or something, would somebody be willing to post theirs that has all the cases unlocked so I could continue where I left off? Or is there a converter out there that can correctly convert .duc to no$gba compatible .sav files?
Thanks for the help in advance.

I'm well aware of Google's power. I've used both of those prior to posting this, as well as SaveConvert and an online converter. I'm inclined to believe No$gba uses a unique format for its saves because none of the SAVs mine converted to were compatible. They seem to be intended for various jump disks for DS. I spent about 45 minutes sifting through Google and was still unable to find a way to convert it correctly so I bugged you guys as a last resort. I know many people here have beat it so if one doesn't exist hopefully somebody will post their uploaded SAV file for me. :(

try max2sc I gave it to you.
G6 Save Converter is very easy to find in the google.com but once you find it then you have to register the forum to download it. So, maybe you should try max2sc.zip now which I gave you a link.

I've already used both of those and some other ones I found. All of which make .SAV files just fine but no$gba doesn't recognize them therefore only giving me a "New Game" option when I load the game.
Edit: Yeah, I just found somebody else confirming my suspicion elsewhere on the forum.
No$gba isn't compatible with the standard save file format. It uses its own internal format for saving.
Therefore I'm in need of a .duc to no$gba .sav converter or somebody elses no$gba Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney .sav file.
Please, there's got to be somebody willing to upload their .SAV :(

This might be a bit too late, but I thought better late than never.
It seems to work for me: I had to do a bit of twiddling with Gamefaqs.com's Action Replay save files.

That .sav file won't load in no$gba 2.5, just so you guys know. I didn't test in other versions, though.

Sorry, I should have been more clear. Phoenix Wright uses FLASH 512KBytes as its backup media, so you have to make sure you change this before you can use the sav file.
Go to Options>Emulation Setup
Change "NDS Cartridge Backup Media" to FLASH 512KBytes.
Press OK.
Go to Options>Save Options
Next:
Unzip the sav file to your BATTERY folder
Rename it so that it has the same name as your rom, but with the .sav extension
Run Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney

64 here and that save worked beautifully too.
I went to site that telsl every save sizes and correct save types. That's how I am using them and also the math for those save sizes if I have to. I prefer 64 here following save size and correct save type, anyway. :P

Actually can you explain the process from the beginning? Because we can't understand the stepsMaxDrive Duo backup save to SuperCard CF/SD save format converter
-----------------------------------------------------------------
1 - get a save from Max Drive software
2 - using the latest Max Drive PC software, extract the save
3 - drag and drop the .duc or old format .dss file onto max2sc.exe
4 - the file that is dropped will be extracted and buffered to SC 256k save file
(this method should work to use with G6 as well)
5 - rename the save appropriately.
Code stripped from current PC util for ETool by request of a supercard user,
hope you enjoy ;)

It turned out that renaming the filename enables the Europian version's Save functioning. Thanks for the file again! My bro lost his words for thrashing me earlier (for introducing the emulator), and my cousin really love it.
Anyway you completed the game in Italian from what I get when I selected to continue the game from your SAV file (see attachment). Or was I mistaken?
Anyway why is it running slow on my mobo.. most of the time the speed is around 48% to 34%, making the sound choppy and the game finishes late. How should I counter the lagginess?

Slapped together a quick tool after removing the other stuff I am working on in the PC side app of Etool, and came up with a small app that will extract Max Drive save files to be used on SuperCard CF/SD save or possibly even G6.

Auto Savetype Detection is only available in the 2.6a version of no$gba which is currently unavailable as Donations for it are down.
The current free version 2.6 still requires you to manually set the correct savetype.

Run Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney
what do i rename the rom to and what's a ROM? i'm an idiot~
Smilley
March 14th, 2009, 15:23
The ROM is the image of the data present on the original game cartridge. In short, it's the 'game'. For DS games, it generally has the .nds extension.
You should name a ROM to not include too many special characters and to be relatively short.
Upon closing No$GBA, it automatically creates/updates a save-file of the same name as the ROM, but with the extension .sav in the Battery folder. If you want to rename your ROM and retain your savegame, you have to rename the save-file as well.

"Microphone wave in error"? This error seems to be hardware-based and if updating the sound driver does not fix it, there is nothing you can do. Only effects games using the mic while it is plugged in, appearantly.

Hrm I searched this forum yesterday and found a thread about the "Microphone wave in error". Someone did say there that turning the compability mode of the no$gba to Windows 98 (and shutting of the advanced text thing) did solve the problem for him.
I tried it and it worked so far. I still restart the DS after each and every save just to make sure....
