This is a list of some of the most common D/P bugs and their solutions (found by either me or the boys and girls :D here on the forum)
----------------------------------------------------------------

Even though it is not a bug, here are the details of how to emulate the game, i read too many questions about it lately so please read these instructions - there are as detailed as i can give so dont pm me for further explanations:

HOW TO EMULATE GAME SECTION

1. DOWNLOAD LATEST VERSION OF NO$GBA AND EXTRACT IT IN A FOLDER OF YOUR CHOICE

2. IN THE SAME FOLDER PLACE THE FIRMWARE AND BIOS FILES (FILES SHOULD BE NAMED FIRMWARE.BIN ; BIOSNDS7.ROM ; BIOSNDS9.ROM)

- IMPORTANT NOTE: THESE FILES SHOULD BE DUMPED FROM YOUR OWN NDS CONSOLE VIA CABLE USING OPTIONS IN UTILITY MENU IN NO$GBA EMULATOR; THERE ARE OTHER WAYS OF OBTAINING THESE FILES BUT THOSE WAYS ARE CONSIDERED ILLEGAL AND THUS ASKING ABOUT IT HERE IS FORBIDEN

3. USING ENDRYPTS ADVANCE PROGRAM ENCRYPT YOUR GAME ROM (YOU CAN DOWNLOAD THE PROGRAM BY CLICKING HERE (http://www.megaupload.com/?d=Z89MUNFU))

4. OPEN THE GAME ROM IN NO$GBA AND ADJUST YOUR OPTIONS > EMULATION SETTINGS TO THE FOLLOWING (SEE SCREEN SHOT) AND SAVE THE OPTIONS

136724

NOW YOU CAN RESET AND THE GAME WILL BE PLAYABLE!!! FOR SOLUTIONS OF PROBLEMS AND BUGS THAT MAY OCCURE WHILE PLAYING GAME SEE THE BUGS AND FIXES SECTION BELOW...

----------------------------------------------------------------

BUGS AND FIXES SECTION

BUG: English version shows a blue screen after save during load, or freezes after load
SOLUTION: The blue screen is shown when using NO$GBA.INP renamed in firmware.bin, and the black screen freeze game when using dumped firmware... the solution for successful load is a patch made by Kingcom. You can find the program for patching here (http://home.pages.at/yoshi87/downloads/ipswinger.rar) and the ips patch file here (http://www.sor-gts.de/files/lgc-pkmd.ips). To patch load the encrypted ROM in the upper field (for how to encrypt the rom see step 3 from the HOW TO EMULATE GAME SECTION above) and the IPS file in the lower one (for details see screenshot below). Once again greatest thanx to Kingcom ;)

136726

NOTE: This patch is tested on Diamond Version and Pearl Version too!

EDIT:If u r using a 'newer than 2.4a version no$gba emu' then get the ".nds" file again and "don't patch it" i hope I am making not patching part clear. This is only for ingame saves as in
start->menu->Save->Yes and not the F7 andf F8 button type saving(also known as "quicksave" or "savestate") and choose the correct save type for the rom. Thanks to Chris21 for this post.

Bug 1: Game freezes at end of first (and other) battle(s)
Solution: JUST TURN ON SOUND. At end of battle pokemon that faints makes a cry sound, and with disabled sound game freezes and waits for the cry of the fainting pokemon to be prosecuted;

Bug 2: Game freezes when trying to deposit pokemon in computer box
Solution A: Use second or third option in the computer to open the deposit boxes, change to an empty box, and then return to the previous menu and deposit option should work
Solution B: Use the third - move option instead of the deposit option (which is first) to move pokemon from hand to box or from box to hand... game starts to run verry slow sometimes while trying to move a pokemon from hand to box so just use Solution A before moving the pokemon from hand;

Bug 3: Upper screen turns white while exploring an area
Solution: This is just a graphical problem actualy, its just FOG... fog is not drawn right and instead of looking like fog it makes the whole screen white, so just open the menu and use HM05 Fog Clear - now after u use fog clear the screen is still white (the screen needs to be reset), so just open any menu that ocupies the whole screen (like the pokemon list, map, pokedex, etc.) and return to the game afterwards. The fog will be gone since the screen is reset and u can play normally;

Bug 4: At some points when there is a movie sequence the screen turns white or freezes
Solution: Just wait a while the screen will return to normal;

IMPORTANT NOTE: DO NOT PRIVATE MESSAGE ME FOR FURTHER EXPLANATION - THIS IS THE MOST DETAILED EXPLANATION I CAN GIVE, AND I BELIVE IT SHOULD BE ENOUGH
----------------------------------------------------------------

Ih you come across any more bugs just write them here, the nice people of this forum will try to help ;)

I just got the english version, tried using the method to allow saving on the several page long no$gba 2.4a released topic, but instead of black screening when I try to load, it goes

"A communication error has occured

If you were in the union room, you will be returned there.
In all other cases, you will be returned to wherever you last saved. Please press the A button"

then, ya press A and it crashes - course, the firmware thing might only work for the japanese version or somethin.

EDIT: ok....same problem here. maybe some problem with the WiFi function in the emulator?

however it works with the Japanese version though - no problem at all. Seems like something is changed in the english version....

Dont discuss about the downloading. It is against the rules because of warez. It can closed at any time because of warex discussion here. We cannot talked about it.

maybe some problem with the WiFi function in the emulator?

WiFi is not fully emulated yet. Read the changelog. :)

Who was discussing downloading? :S

Anyway, everyone is having the same saving/loading problems... isnt there anyone out there who knows how to fix this

ok here is what i've tested so far...

the blue screen is shown when using a firmware file that is actualy a renamed NO$GBA.inp file;
when deleting the firmware file it shows you the right start screen where you can choose to resume game, but by doing so screens turn black and game freezes...
it is the same with my french firmware...

so i guess you need an original us, or english firmware to load the game, maybe japanese will work too... have to try it though

Andemon
April 21st, 2007, 11:34
I suppose somebody should try it with US firmware - I'm sure that someone out there has it...

My European one (set to English) doesn't load this, neither does the Japanese firmware. If the US firmware doesn't work, then the emu simply doesn't support the game yet. In that case, uh, try checking for new version in few months or so.

TosheX
April 21st, 2007, 11:37
us firmware wanted then :D:D whoever has one test it and post results!!!

anyways im pretty sure its the firmware, the emu emulates the game ok...

I hope someone figures this out...
but i agree, it looks like it is the firmware, not the emulator, however i would like to see another upgrade soon :)

someone in the german comunity has patched the rom
(but he dont know, if there are another bugs with the patch):
emuforum.de :: Thema anzeigen - no$gba 2.4a (http://www.emuforum.de/viewtopic.php?t=69768&start=45)
(in the first post is the ips-file)
you need this prog to patch the rom with the ips file:
http://home.pages.at/yoshi87/downloads/ipswinger.rar

patch is for diamond..
it only works with firmware (not the no$gba.inp trick)

Mate that is fantastic, worked first go :)

I hope theres no bugs associated with it later on in the game, but for now I'm cheering

I'm amazed of how fast they made it... who made this patch? And what does it do can u tell? does it remove region protection for firmware or some sort?

Andemon
April 21st, 2007, 12:51
That's what I'd call a quickfix. It's just about the smallest patch that I've ever seen, but still quite impressive that somebody /already/ made one. >_>

I made this patch. You can load your savegame with it.

It's a pretty simple fix.

The game executes this code while loading the save:

Loop:
ldrh r0,[r2]
mov r3,r0,asr 8h
ldrh r0,[r1]
cmp r3,2h
bne Loop
For some reasons, r3 is always zero, so it's an endless loop. It seems to load some wifi things there, proably isn't emulated yet. I just changed cmp r3,2h to cmp r3,0h, and it worked. Don't know if it breaks or fixes something else.

Btw, I only made this patch so nobody would complain, not because I actually like the game...

I will :) don't know if it is a bug but under Windows Vista i find the colors a but insipid, maybe my configuration of the emulator is wrong ?

maybe you are using poppy bright - change the options for GBA screen color in emulation setup

Colonel.Cool
April 21st, 2007, 15:59
I used GBA SP not poppy bright, I must choose NDS (GBA) correct ?
Edit : Whatever the mode colors are still kind the same

TosheX
April 21st, 2007, 16:04
well the other settings in GBA MODE give pretty much the same color, just poppy bright gives a rather expressed color that in my opinion is too colorful :D

I'm getting a blue screen that says:

"The data could not be read. Please turn off the power, then remove and reinsert the DS Game Card"

Being that I don't know how, I haven't modified anything... I just downloaded the No$gba emulator and tried to play the diamond rom, with no avail.

What am I doing wrong?

edit: out of curiosity, I downloaded pearl and tried to run it... got the same error. I then went and downloaded pokemon dash --- it worked fine, though it was slow.

No, you dont need to encrypt the rom first. you can go to options and disabled gbabios and save then you are able to run decrypt the rom. The encrypt the roms required firmware to be enable if you want to use the firmware for some reasons.

You've probably selected the wrong savetype. I have no idea which one Pokemon uses (or rather, am too lazy to check), but I'd guess that it's one of the larger ones...

Is the night/day working ?

It should work.
The emu takes the time settings directly from your computers clock.

I'm using 2.4a and I can save fine (I think) when I save it works, and if I try and save again it'll say theres already a save file and ask if I want to override. But if I exit no$gba and run it up again it'll just start up like always, it wont give me an option to load anything, just starts with the prof asking my name.

Never mind, I changed it to FLASH256 and that worked >_>

So, yeah, I'm sure: you didn't even bother to read the thread before posting. Not that anybody cares much - don't make such a big issue out of it.

um... ok the game works ok, slow, but the sound... it's all distorted, like somebody put a microphone on a speaker... any way to fix this?

What speed are you running it at? If it's too fast, the sound ends up distorted. Try running it in Realtime - though that won't help the speed any, and the sound still won't be perfect. Better to just wait for a another - hopefully faster - version of NO$GBA if you have a slowish computer. ...or buy faster computer, though I've heard that it still doesn't run at perfect speed even with the fastest ones on the market. (I suppose a military-grade computer would work just fine, but eh, fat chance of any of us acquiring one of those. ;) )

to fix the sound do this...
Ok, the sound when u start it will be crackling like wtf.

The trick is, change it into realtime speed.

Then wait a bit.

Then turn on sound at digital stereo best.

It will end up in PERFECT sound.

you should encrypt the rom using endrypts tool - search the forum, there are other posts that tell you how to do this - this is not a diamond problem but an emulation must do - so thats why i wrote nothing about it in the bugs and solutions section at the begining of this thread

I tried encrypting it before and after i applied the patch, still the same result. I have the firmware and bios files; is there a particular thing i need to do with the firmware/bios files other than have them in the same folder? The game crashes instantly after i try to load the game, otherwise everything works fine. The only setting i have changed in the emulator is the speed. NDS cartridge backup media is set to flash 256k. I am sure i am just missing something crucial heh.

hmm....is your firmware.bin file original? (ie. NOT a renamed no$gba.ips file) try changing it back to Real-time speed, and if your firmware.bin file is original, try setting the emulator to start from "GBA BIOS" instead of "Start Cartridge Directly"......

hei guys, is the ips patch 26 Bytes only? Coz when i look at my download, it seems a bit broken. Can anyone help me? T_T yes! i can undrstand pkmn now! dont need any annoying translation guides anymore.. just walkthroughs. hehehe! BTW, when you fill out your pokemon box in pc with pokemons, dont ever open it coz, the game freezes.. hehehe! just segregate them at least 3 lines of pokemons per box.. bcoz more sprites per box, the speed viewing the pokemons in the box goes slower until it freezes.. =)

I'm still getting this error, ive tried patching with eNDcryptS and IPSWin (That german one) and it didnt work, I've also tried doing the Firmware/No$GBA thing didnt work. I'm using an english rom, and the latest No$GBA
any help?

Don't encrypt the game file, just use the IPS and the game will work.
Take a shot of your config window and post it here, then we can see if there's something wrong ;)

Aight i got a fresh rom and just used the IPS patch, I tried it still had the problem, the only settings ive changed was the sound output/sound sample rate and the media backup to FLASH 256, mainly cuz i read on a forum to change it to that. I have another kind of problem,
I read some bios let u save, others not to load and others not to use the stylo.
Well, these are the files I have in the main folder:
firmware.bin
firmware2.bin
biosnds7.rom
biodnds9.rom

I pathched the game with the patch, the problem is I can play the game if I delete firmware.bin, but it does not save.
It says to save, but when I reset the game, it acts just like it's the first time, there is no CONTINUE menu.
What am I missing?
I know bios is chinese. But which of those 4 files actually are used?
Why can not I save correctly? I have no white or blue screens...

Thank u for patience. :thumb:

People, to recap and make it work:

use no$gba 2.4a emu version
have three .ROM files in no$ dir
have *actual* 256KB firmware.bin in no$ dir (NOT copied no$ .inp file!)
NDS Backup Media in no$ EMU config set for "Flash 256K Bytes"
Reset/Startup Entrypoint in no$ EMU Config set for "Start Cart Directly"

SAVE these settings from the no$ menu!

It is recommended to use some of the other 'faster' settings if you do not have a fast PC. Like 'digital mono' sound, etc... The no$ EMU seems to crash the least at the '16.78 MHz Realtime, Auto' speed setting, which makes the game pretty slow on a <3+GHZ PC, but it's a trade-off against crashes. <shrug>

There WILL be more bugs/issues and maybe there will be another build of no$ forthcoming from Mr. Korth, maybe not. It's free software people and it works for now, let's not complain too much about it... Capiche?

-Vm

Oh... and you obviously need patched .nds files using the .ips patcher to avoid the wifi error after the first game save....

I like being superior and not bothered with the all the petty annoyances a game provides like finding cash etc. I am a content player and play for the story and of course I like being completely impervious to any attack. I don't care for a challenge I just play for the story and enjoy owning everyone because I am invincible.
Then there also game which like to screw you over, like in pokemon where your opponent suddenly lands a critical attack like 4 times in a row and you miss 4 times in a row. Or where sudden bad luck in Yu-Gi-Oh! causes the game to turn from a 8000-1000LP position to a 0-500LP position just because a daft card like Skyscraper was suddenly activated and you can't find the spell-destroying cards in your deck and your opponent keeps on getting monsters. Being screwed over like that makes game less enjoyable for me so I cheat to prevent that. And timer's are just the worst concept ever invented in game, I hate them, so I cheat to kill them.

LoL. hehehe! just kidding. btw, i dont cheat! i hate cheating, it just messes up my game. i hate typing lots of codes! codes and codes and codes or even just copy them. i hate doin that. testing and testing and testing and none works! wastes my time. when i play a game, must play it continuously w/o breaks. when i break, i stop. for me, to feel the essence of gaming is to play games w/o cheating. but still i do respect your perspectives. =)

Richard A. Bartle: Players Who Suit MUDs (http://www.mud.co.uk/richard/hcds.htm)
Originally written about MUDs, but can be applied to pretty much all games. Not many hearts (socialisers) play offline games, but the other groups are common.
Those who strictly oppose cheating are mostly achievers (diamonds), and those who cheat are either explorers (spades) or killers (clubs) - or combinations of the two.

Personally, I'm a spade. I enjoy seeing all the content in the game, it doesn't matter if it's slightly challenging or too easy; but if it's so hard that it slows down seeing the content, I cheat.

I can't understand....

I agree with you too. Cheating makes sense if you lost your save state and have to go all the way again. But cheating the first time you are playing the game is boring. I am more interested in the stories of the games too, but Pokemon isn't fun for me if i don't have to think what to do, to win against a other Pokemon. :D

I got the game Yesterday and was pretty dissapointed when it didn`t go after the startscreen. I hope that I can now begin my Pokemonjourney with the patch.

P.S: Last week someone posted such a program to increase the screensize. Because of that my games got pretty slow, but i changed something that a few games became a speed boost in the Normal No$GBA mode that made them perfect.

Ok I admit pokemon is just about the only game I won't cheat infinite health in. But infinte cash, potions, Rare Candy's, Masterballs and PP for the pokemon is a must. I have no idea how people can get through victory road or any of the leagues as near the end you pokemon know's a few really powerfall moves...but about like 4 out of 5 actually hit and your pokemon only has about 5-10 PP for each move...and ether's (I think it was ether's that restore PP) can't be bought and only like 20-30 can be found which makes that aspect of the game very annoying. Then there is my pokemon are very strong and levels above anything in the wild so catching becomes very hard...even a simple scratch attack and the pokemon faints...and none not even a level 2 can be caught instantly with any of the regular balls. So infinite Master Balls is a must. Infinite Rare Candies cuz training after the 10th pokemon is just pure hell and enough to throw the game out of the window...especially if you find something in the wild you want to level up that's really weak...some stupid thing like abra I think it was or weedle which has absolutely no usefull atks. Infinite Potions cuz trecking back to the Pokecenter all the time is really annoying. Infinite Restore's cuz of all the litle screwjobs some Pokemon can sumbit you to. Infinite Full Heals cuz status abnormalities are annoying. The last two also mean I head to pokecenter's less. There that's about the things I cheat in pokemon. Most other games have infinite HP or infinite energy/MP activated standard though

yeah of course i did!!i checked the raw box and enter as gameshark V1/2..I just copy right the codes to the first space..Or does it have to insert the codes one by one??And in exp modifier i change the ???? with the exp that i wanted.eg 0100 for 100xp..None of them work..And you mentioned that you found diffrent codes for diamond version on page 5 of this thread..Or maybe it has some kind of mastercode or something..

you prob overwhelmed the game with too much , like forceFeeding an infant with a 12oz steak.

-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=

(about "cheating")

with poke rpg's its fun to use codes, its like lies. you can lie without going to far and become a 'lierER'

i usually just make my 5 poke team, and max out my money/pokeballs/and full restores.

thats just using 4 codes. i play the game regular, from then on.

woe to those noobs who use every single codes and max everything out making the game so boring that they never even finish the game.

but all this is an off-topic ....'topic' thats shoulnt have been introduced

Thanks TosheX! hahaha nice analogy there!

I think there is a difference:

English Pokemon:
Load using firmware - gets you the Communication Error even if patched
Start Cartridge Directly (without Firmware.bin in folder) - if rom is patched with the IPS, it should work properly
Start Cartridge Directly (with Firmware.bin in folder) - Communication Error

Japanese Pokemon:
Load using firmware - works with touchscreen and saves and everything
Start Cartridge Directly (without Firmware.bin in folder) - gets you black screen when trying to load saved game
Start Cartridge Directly (with Firmware.bin in folder) - i forgot about this one, either touchscreen or saving doesn't work properly....someone confirm

Note: When I mean firmware I meant the real firmware.bin, not the renamed no$gba.inp file.

EDIT: TosheX hence I think your first post needs to be modified, particularly for the Communication Error bug. The noobs on this forum will keep asking questions if they followed your directions and still get the Communication Error.

Also the way to get English and Jap version of pokemon to work perfectly requires different settings as listed above. Yes weird, NO$GBA is not perfect yet.

Can you help me?

Regarding withdrawing pokemon...
Yes, The game freeze whenever I withdraw pokemon into my hand.

I already tried this...
Bug 2: Game freezes when trying to deposit pokemon in computer box
Solution A: Use second or third option in the computer to open the deposit boxes, change to an empty box, and then return to the previous menu and deposit option should work
Solution B: Use the third - move option instead of the deposit option (which is first) to move pokemon from hand to box or from box to hand... game starts to run verry slow sometimes while trying to move a pokemon from hand to box so just use Solution A before moving the pokemon from hand;

and yet, depositing pokemon is ok but withdrawing is my problem... it never work in the solution above.

Patched it, black freeze gone when loading save...none of what you describe....no communication error whatsoever and I am loading from the firmware. All I did was make a new folder copy/pasted everything from my former folder. Changd save type and saved new settings. Loaded pokemon, saved, got the black freeze when trying to load save. Patched, no more issues aside from stutter which drives me mad, lag I can live with but stutter just hurts my eyes.

Someone on another forum said that if you set the priority to high on No$GBA, Pokemon Diamond/Pearl will run slightly faster. Problem is, I have no idea how to set it to high. Can anyone maybe, tell me how? Thanks.:)

Don't set it high. Your PC should autmatically use as much CPU as it can, setting it higher for me made it run slower and use less CPU.
Whilst you have it running press Ctrl+Alt+Delete and enter your task manager. Click on Processes and then right-click on no$gba and set it's prority higher...Realtime WILL lock up your PC.

to set priority on high run windows task manager (alt+ctrl+del) and right click on the NO$GBA process, chose priority>high (do not use realtime for your computer will be unusable for anything else than NO$GBA)

as for no save different type bug i will add it; the load through firmware works as does load directly so i wont edit anything about it... and since noone would play japanese version when there is an english one i am not going to get so far into it as to explain slight differences between emulating the two, the way i explained in first thread when followed exactly makes both games playable (except for japanese all european firmware versions dont work with load but what the heck)

Someone posted a Addon for No$GBA here last week that can make the window bigger and you can set Priorities in it that seem to not change if you go back into Normal mode. At least I got Sonic rush to play in Full speed and the Music was great too. Normally Music is more glitchy in this game for me.

Q & A:

Can i get xxxx keyitem for xxxx event?
NO, play the game, most of keyitems need a activator to work in those specific events.

Can i have infinite money and items?
NO. a save file doesn't make the items infinite, because there is no CONSTANT WRITE feature built-in on a save file. all you can get is the MAXIMUM of that particular item (x999) or money (999999).

Can you make a code to modify the wild pokémons, so i can get 'em all?
NO. first of all the game uses a strong encryption for pokémons, I'll let this code for someone who have the tools (like the guys at codejunkies, or CMX at codebreaker)

Can i get xxxx item?
YES. first of all, specify the classification of the item (ITEM, BATTLE ITEM, MEDICINE, POKEBALLS etc... NO KEYITEM please, this is just stupid) then the NAME.

hmm...shudn't hav anything to do with the Unlimited 10% thing.

Are you by any chance playing music or running any program that produces sound while trying to emulate your game? that "might" be a cause of this, but it could be problem with your sound driver, or simply the emulator isn't perfect yet.

no it don't work, the screen become black

problem with your firmware. Try renaming your firmware.bin file to anything else, then "Start Cartridge Directly". Alternatively, redump your Firmware.

O by the way TosheX what about the bug(?) where Pokemon would say it saved but no save file is actually created...that's when choosing the wrong save type right? maybe you should add that to your list?

I believe this may be caused because no$gba saves the game in memory when you save and only writes to a file (in the battery folder) when the application is closed. So if you load a game, then play a while and save, then it crashes no file is written so it uses the last save when the app was closed. Crashing or having to close it via an application kill should be the only real problem here.

Yay bunnies!

I got: 2.1 Ghz Celeron
GeForce 5200 256MB
256 MB Ram
80 GB Hard disk
Sound on board

The problem only happens when I play Pearl. Maybe that the Processor gets too hot, but i checked the temperature and it went only 9 Celsius up, which shouldn't be a problem I think. I already made my processor slower to 1.9 Ghz, that gave me a bit extra time, but it freezed again.

I think I wont be able to play it on my Computer until a faster version of the Emulator comes out. Because he doesnt freeze for me with all my other games. I guess, thats because he has to take the whole Processor power for that game and the others dont need to speed up. Do you think it might help if I change the Priority in the Taskmanager to a lower level?

P.S: I tried the Game on a 2.6 Ghz machine with 256 MB Ram with Sound and Grafix onboard and the Game was on fullspeed inside and outside. It just lagged a bit when there were effects, but in all it was very smooth to play. ;)

P.S: I tried the Game on a 2.6 Ghz machine with 256 MB Ram with Sound and Grafix onboard and the Game was on fullspeed inside and outside. It just lagged a bit when there were effects, but in all it was very smooth to play. ;)

hum... i think you need more ram. sometimes no$gba uses more than 128mb

the game isnt freezing but this is happens cause the emulator cannot emulate this cinematic of dialga..you are supposed to wait 3-4 minutes and the game ll back at normal and you can battle dialga or palkia afterwards..

the emulator and the game is okay, the sound is a bit choppy for me and outdoors are slow but not as slow like back then. Also when I load the screen just turns black, any help? and I did read the topic this time, btw I downloaded both D and P from gbxemu and are named "Pokemon_Diamond_and_Pearl_FIXED" and the text file said to go here.

I have got the same problem and I know that there s no cinematic at that point there should be a Galaxy like Graphic on dialga at that point and that s where my game just won t go on
PS.: I waited like 20 minutes one time and it just won t go on ....

So I want to know if anyone here really came past Dialga and can tell me if he had any special settings except the normal ones at that point...

Never mind !!!
It seems like I killed my save data.Becaus when the battle against the team galactic boss should start the dialogue simply isn't starting.
So for their own saftey people should save before the final area of Mt. Coronet
...
Because at somepoint up there you can't go back anymore and that is the point where I saved and where I'm stuck now ....

So... I hope nobody else will make the same mistake now ....

hello!

i have had a problem with my save file. I had already played for 4hours and i almost was at the second gym. Today i continued my journey, played for about 5 hours en then i got the message: micro wave failure. I reloaded my rom and it began back at 4hours, so i lost today's data. I've read a bit on the net that it's better when you save to close no$gba, because then it will be actually saved!

Is their any possibility to recover my save file or do i have to do it all over again?

If you think No$GBA is crap, what are you doing in this forum?
No$GBA is the best DS emulator for a long time and if you don't like it... just leave its forum and forget about it.

Well, you can think what you want about No$GBA but you don't need to say that.

no$gba is better than what? for gba games, VBA own by far. :thumb: if it's for NDS, well, WAIT and see. there are DESMUME and IDEAS to fight yet... they are not dead :dead:

at the end, let's see if no$gba will reign supreme as you implicit say.

and It's CRAPPY... you need to close the emulator just to save... lol
maybe you got used to it, but not me.

and yes, i don't like the primitive looking no$gba... desmume is more my style :) \o\ <o\ \o/ /o> /o/

look just stop arguing about which emulator is better....people can like whatever their prefer. Just for those who DOESN'T like something - quit saying "_______ sucks" or "______ is full of crap"...etc. If you don't like it, don't use it, it's just that simple. Every time someone says something like that a whole war comes up. Just stop it - it's pointless.

right now? it's probably no$gba. everyone knows that, but nds emulation is fairly new.

I'm not saying that no$gba is a total crap, since it runs almost all games. but just the LOOK, the gui is a mess, looks like a 1990 software.

Well, my silence will be the best answer.
With all this arrogance you'll never understand what I was trying to say.
This is getting very childish, if you are looking for trouble you won't find here, at least not with me.
Keep this way, I don't think that you will get very far since you are so narrow-minded.

You can find the program for patching here and the ips patch file here. To patch load the encrypted ROM in the upper field (for how to encrypt the rom see step 3 from the HOW TO EMULATE GAME SECTION above) and the IPS file in the lower one (for details see screenshot below). Once again greatest thanx to Kingcom

In the same folder as the game...or tool...best just put everything in the same folder. Put the game, the tool and the patch all in the same folder, that's what I did.
